BMCC Hosts Introductory E-Meeting for Charterhouse Malaysia

The BMCC was pleased to host an introductory e-meeting for our new Sterling member, Charterhouse Malaysia, last week as part of their onboarding into the Chamber's services and initiatives. At the same time, the BMCC's executive team was able to get to know Charterhouse, one of the pioneer UK education establishments, and their vision and mission in education better. The team also took the opportunity to explain in further detail the services and support the Chamber offers to UK businesses setting up in Malaysia.

Charterhouse Malaysia is in the midst of establishing their Charterhouse Hartamas campus, an English-medium Sixth Form college with a contemporary international outlook. The college prepares students for A-level exams in a varied and dynamic learning environment derived from its education ethos, Study, Create, and Inspire. As an Asian edition of one of Britain’s most prestigious public schools, Charterhouse Hartamas shares its DNA with Charterhouse UK and incorporates the values and traditions of the parent school within its culture, integrated with a modern approach. Following the UK academic year, the college aims to be operational starting this September. Visit the Charterhouse Asia website here.

Representing Charterhouse Malaysia: Richard Davidson (Headteacher), Tom Robinson (Deputy Headteacher), Rachael Smith (Deputy Headteacher) and Dr. May Heong (Admission & Marketing Manager)

Representing the BMCC: Abrar Anwar (Chairman), Jennifer Lopez (Chief Executive Officer), Roufizah Razali (Senior Manager, Membership & Strategic Partnerships) and Rohazwan Zakaria (Public Affairs Manager)

ILM Impactful Leadership Webinar:
What is Impactful Leadership in a Virtual World?

With a shift to virtual working and change becoming a constant, what does impactful leadership look like? When Covid hit the globe, the working culture businesses once had disappeared over night, with staff working at home and customer transactions largely being remote. Businesses across the world have had to adapt the way they lead and their strategies for workforce skills development. In many cases, this has meant empowering and trusting staff to take more control of their daily schedule and to meet their performance targets in a more flexible working culture. How is this working in practice and what challenges are businesses facing?

Our upcoming ILM webinar will share views and experiences on how businesses and leaders are supporting the wellbeing of their workforce, ensuring performance is maintained and that their customer experience is not impacted.

Date: Wednesday, 27 January 2021
Time: 4.00pm - 5.00pm (MY Time)
