Your Partner for Aerospace Investment in ASEAN’s Ideal Business Landscape
The Ideal ASEAN Business Landscape for Aerospace Investment
The ASEAN region is a flourishing hub for aviation and aerospace activities. Nestled in Asia-Pacific, the ASEAN member countries are increasingly gaining popularity as aerospace investment hotspots. Among these member countries lies Malaysia, a melting pot of culture, sights – and business opportunities. Strategically located within 5 hours’ flight to all ASEAN countries, and 8 to 12 hours to major cities, Malaysia is an up-and-coming hub with an established aerospace ecosystem. This thriving landscape is home to a number of notable international brands, including AIRBUS Helicopters, ExecuJet MRO Services, GE Engine Services Malaysia and Spirit Aerosystems – supported by reputable local organisations such as Airod, Dviation and Sepang Aircraft Engineering (An Airbus Affiliate).
An Investment State of Mind
If Malaysia piques your investment interests, then Selangor is where you should be. Along the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia, encircling Kuala Lumpur, is the state of Selangor Darul Ehsan. Darul Ehsan, which means “Abode of Sincerity”, is the Arabic honorific bestowed upon this economic powerhouse.
Contributing to nearly a quarter of Malaysia’s total GDP, Selangor has attracted international investments, led by the likes of Japan, USA, Singapore and China. The diverse Selangor business landscape encompasses five core clusters: Electrical & Electronics (E&E), Life Sciences, Food & Beverage Manufacturing, Transport Equipment, and Machinery & Equipment.
Over 62% of Malaysia’s aerospace activity is concentrated in and around this state, where 1928.6 acres have been allocated for aerospace and industrial development (including airside/runway access). At present, Selangor stands to offer 717,160 employment opportunities, generated by over 20 aerospace-related institutions of higher learning. |
