Alan Stevens Master / CEO Marlborough College Malaysia
Alan Stevens has been the Master/CEO of Marlborough College Malaysia, a 3-18 non-profit school which employs 400 people in Johor, since 2017. With boarding and day pupils from 40 countries, the school contributes to the infrastructure of Iskandar Malaysia and is patronised by numerous overseas investors and families through educational tourism and MM2H. Alan was previously Headmaster of an independent boarding school in England for seven years, prior to which he held a range of leadership positions in British independent schools and a commission in the UK Reserve Forces. He occasionally publishes on history, education and leadership and inspects schools for various accreditation bodies.
Alan chairs the Advocacy Working Group of the BMCC Education (3-18) Committee and is actively involved in the discussion and drafting of the BMCC advocacy letters and memorandum to the Ministry of Education, Malaysia and other Government officials. |

Mark Arthun Managing Director and Site Leader Smith+Nephew Operations Sdn Bhd
Mark Arthun is the Managing Director and Site Leader for Smith+Nephew's greenfield manufacturing site in Penang, Malaysia.
Mark oversees all Malaysian operations, from construction to the manufacturing and distribution of Orthopedics products globally. He is an expert in developing and deploying operational strategies in medical device and aerospace operations. An Industrial Engineer by training, Mark has held leadership roles at Abbott, Alere, and Boeing.
Mark's involvement with BMCC includes driving improved COVID-19 policies as part of BMCC Advisory Group, being a keynote speaker to drive medical technologies investment and driving the green agenda in Malaysia through multiple BMCC events. |

Soo Hoo Khoon Yean Managing Partner PricewaterhouseCoopers, Malaysia
Soo Hoo Khoon Yean has been the Managing Partner of the PwC Malaysia-Vietnam Firm since July 2020. He is also the Chairman of the PwC South East Asia Consulting Practice, with over 27 years of diversified experience servicing clients in the Financial Services industry around the region and Malaysia. Prior to his current role, he led the Assurance practice and headed a number of profile projects that are of public interest.
Soo Hoo has rich experience around trending key issues and challenges such as digitalisation, e-sustainability and climate changes. |

Dr. Sanjeev Panchal Country President AstraZeneca Malaysia
Dr. Sanjeev Panchal is the Country President for AstraZeneca Malaysia. He is responsible for managing the overall company operations, driving a patient-centric culture and leading a high performing team in Malaysia. Sanjeev brings to this role his strength of strategic thinking, experience in emerging markets and diverse leadership roles.
Having worked in various roles and regions since joining AstraZeneca in India in 2003, one of Sanjeev’s strongest assets is his ability to thrive in a diverse environment, assume challenging assignments and work with different cultures. He has held positions in leadership roles across Sales and Marketing within India and Indonesia, before moving on to Regional Asia Pacific in Singapore and the International Region in UK.
Prior to his current appointment, Sanjeev was the CVRM Commercial Director in 2017, based in the UK, where he assumed the responsibility for developing AstraZeneca’s Emerging Market Strategy for the CVRM commercial businesses in all international markets including Asia Area, LATAM, MEA as well as Brazil, Russia and ANZ. |

Ivan Tan Country Chairman, Malaysia, Shell Malaysia Limited
Ivan Tan is the Country Chairman of Shell Companies in Malaysia and Senior Vice President, Malaysia Upstream. As Country Chairman, Ivan provides strategic business direction to all of the energy industry in Malaysia. Ivan joined Shell in 2001. His early career comprised of several Wells, Contracting and Procurement and HSE assignments in Malaysia, the Netherlands, New Zealand and China.
In April 2014, he was appointed as Vice President Wells HSE, based in The Netherlands. Ivan moved to Australia in January 2016, where he led the technical integration of the Shell and British Gas businesses in Australia. In June 2016, Ivan was appointed as Chief Operating Officer for Arrow Energy, one of Shell's joint ventures. He was responsible for the end-to-end delivery of capacity development, project delivery, asset management and energy markets for Arrow's business in the natural gas industry. Ivan was also the Co-Chair and President of Queensland Natural Gas Exploration and the Production Industry Safety Forum.
Ivan returned to Miri in February 2020 to assume the role of Vice President Malaysia & Philippines and Managing Director for Sarawak Shell Berhad and Sabah Shell Petroleum Company Limited. In April 2021, Ivan was appointed as Country Chairman Malaysia and Senior Vice President Malaysia Upstream. |

Finally, we bid farewell to two Board Members who ended their term after the AGM: - Dato’ Larry Gan, Chairman, Cloudaron Group Berhad
- Mr David Ng, Managing Director, International SOS (M) Sdn Bhd
Both long-standing Board Members, Dato’ Larry Gan was previously the Chairman of Board from 2012 -2015, while Mr David Ng had served as Deputy Chairman from 2015 to 2020. The BMCC thanks both Dato’ Larry Gan and Mr David Ng for their invaluable contributions to the Chamber during their Board tenure.
