Leslie A. Aldrich, ATC, CEAS, PAVE, CETS - is the Director of Operations for Paragon Safety Group, Health Services Division. Leslie is a Certified Athletic Trainer specializing in functional job analysis, ergonomics, employment testing, employment and workers' compensation regulations, emergency medical services, injury management, early symptom intervention, and wellbeing programs. She has worked in a range of settings, from coal mines and natural gas fields to food facilities and offices, allowing her to develop a variety of experience in building successful programs. She is the developer and instructor for national certification courses in job analysis and employment test development and presents on her specialities across the country. Leslie's passion is to improve the quality of life of communities, through impactful onsite interventions.

Adam Britt, Director of Risk Management for Colony Tire Corp. Born in Florida, Adam graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Risk Management and Insurance. During his 15-year career in the insurance industry, Adam worked for Federated Insurance Companies as a Risk Consultant throughout the Southeast US. He helped a variety of businesses evaluate, establish, evolve, and expand their risk management programs. He joined Colony Tire in 2022 with the opportunity to positively impact the company and community through safety.

Dwayne Eury

Risk Manager - Carteret Country

Dwayne Eury, currently is employed with Carteret County as the Risk Manager. He has over 20 years of safety & security experience spanning from the US Coast Guard, NC Aquariums, City of Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, Wake County and Carteret County. As the Director of Security for Mecklenburg County, In 2012, while partnering with the Mecklenburg sheriff’s Office, Dwayne started an Active Shooter response training program. In 2014, as the new Director of Safety & Security for Wake County, Dwayne partnered with the Wake Sheriff’s Office and began teaching Active Shooter response to Wake County and State employees. In 2023, Dwayne began the process of planning for an actual Active Shooter drill for staff. After 4 months of planning, Dwayne was able to successfully implement an Active Shooter drill. Today, Dwayne will discuss the process to make this training occur.

Anna Ferrante

EM Planner, Planning at NC Department of Public Safety

Anna Ferrante is an Emergency Management Planner with the Planning Section at North Carolina Emergency Management. While her primary responsibility is to update NCEM’s Continuity of Operations Plan as well as North Carolina’s Emergency Operations Plan, she is also leads other projects including the HERricane program for high school girls and the State Emergency Response Commission. During activations, she develops reports for the State Emergency Response Team to support partners and leadership.
Anna has a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics and Statistics with minors in Spanish and Public Health from the State University of New York at Fredonia. She began her career in Emergency Management as an AmeriCorps volunteer with the FEMACorps program. During this time, she deployed to North Carolina to the Public Assistance program after Hurricane Matthew. From there, she transitioned to Washington DC working at FEMA in the Direct Housing Unit within Individual Assistance. She deployed to support temporary housing for disaster survivors and helped review and update disaster housing programs and policies. While at FEMA, she also worked in Field Operations supporting the FEMA employees and volunteers who deploy after a disaster.
Anna has been with North Carolina Emergency Management since 2021 and loves how friendly and welcoming everyone is in North Carolina. She enjoys exploring state parks, visiting the mountains and beaches, playing tennis and rock climbing.

Stephanie B. Miller, MSHR

Talent Acquisition Manager at North Carolina Department of Adult Correction

Stephanie B. Miller currently works for the State of North Carolina, serving at the NC Department of Adult Correction as their Talent Acquisition Manager; she manages a team of 16 HR professionals focused on staffing and recruitment initiatives within the agency. Stephanie started in state government in 2017 and has since served as the pleasure of five state agencies, one including the NC Office of the State Human Resources. Stephanie is a multifaceted professional whose journey embodies resilience, creativity, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. Stephanie’s 12-year human resource background spans across local and state government and private industries emerging as a beacon of inspiration and innovation with an energic approach to strategic process improvements. Stephanie’s professional passions include Recruitment and Retention as well as Risk Management and Training & Development. Prior to entry to state government, Stephanie worked for a local municipality as a Risk & Human Resources Generalist.
Stephanie is motivated by serving others, to work and serve as a public servant within the great State of North Carolina. Stephanie holds a Master of Science in Human Resource Management from Western Carolina University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration & Management from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. She is a wife and a busy mother to identical twin boys and currently resides in Raleigh, North Carolina. In her free time, you can find her researching and learning, reading, and spending time with family outdoors.

Dr. Sarah Mouser, Au.D., CCC-A, CPS/A

Doctor of Audiology at Occupational Sound Solutions

Dr. Mouser is a Dr. of Audiology and the owner of Occupational Sound Solutions. Although she is based in North Carolina, she manages Hearing Conservation Programs for companies all over the United States and serves as a CAOHC Course Director. Dr. Mouser is currently licensed in 27 states.

In addition, Dr. Mouser owns and oeprates an Opthalmology and Clinical Audiology practice, Southeastern Eye Care, PA, with her husband who is an Ophthamologist.
