Hanif Hashim Senior Vice President and General Manager of Petrofac (Malaysia-PM304) Limited since 2016 is responsible for directing all aspects of company strategy, planning and operations. He initially joined the company as Head of Subsurface and Business Development liaison in 2007 and led the company’s core functions responsible for subsurface matters and driving efforts to maximise the value of field and portfolio of assets.

Previously, Hanif served as an Oil Resource Planning Section Manager, Strategic Planning at Petronas Malaysian Unit (PMU), now known as Petronas MPM, responsible for managing reserves and production strategy. Prior to joining Petronas, Hanif was a Reservoir Development Engineer at ExxonMobil Malaysia and was then assigned to ExxonMobil Australia as a Reservoir Surveillance Engineer. Following his return from Australia, he was then tasked as the Gas Marketing Business Development Manager and Advisor in the Gas Marketing Department for ExxonMobil Malaysia and the United Kingdom, respectively.

Currently, Hanif is a Board Member to the British Malaysia Chamber of Commerce (BMCC) and Chairman to the BMCC Energy Committee to support efforts in strengthening bilateral trade between both countries. Hanif Hashim holds a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, USA. He had also undergone a series of leadership training at leading global institutions (Thunderbird Graduate School Arizona USA, INSEAD Fontainebleau France, Oxford Said UK, London Business School UK).

Handan joined PETRONAS in January 1991 as a Construction Engineer with PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd (PCSB). In his early days, he was assigned to several onshore and offshore development projects, exposing him to various project phases from engineering design, fabrication, offshore installation, hook-up, to commissioning and start-up. In the subsequent years, he led process and mechanical team before his secondment to Malaysia-Thailand Joint Authority in 2005 to lead exploration and production department. In 2010, he was assigned as Head, Garraf oilfield project delivery in Iraq where he successfully led his team in delivering first oil in August 2013.

Upon returning to Malaysia in 2014, he was leading resource development team, under Malaysia PETROLEUM Management, delivering several FDPs for oil and gas resources development in Sarawak.

In 2016, he was assigned as Head, Project Delivery (Upstream International), under Project Delivery and Technology Division. In addition to overseeing development projects, he was also leading an execution team to perform 1st Deepwater decommissioning project offshore Mauritania.

In 2017, he was appointed as Project Director for ENGEN Petroleum Ltd based in Durban, South Africa. Since early 2019, he has been leading the Production & Operations Management, under Malaysia Petroleum Management – the exploration & production regulatory arm of Malaysia.

He graduated from University College London, in Mechanical Engineering.

Jinda is a Decommissioning Development Manager at Bilfinger Salamis UK, dividing her time between operations, innovation, technical and business development. She is dedicated to increasing the UK’s market share in decommissioning. As a strategic driver within Bilfinger, Jinda excels in capturing and delivering opportunities. She is heavily involved in all aspects of decommissioning, from concept to completion, and is key in developing strategic action plans.

Jinda comes from a varied technical background and holds a BSc honours degree in Architectural Technology from the Scott Sutherland School of Architecture, Robert Gordon University.

She has previously spent more than 8 years in the Middle East running her own business, then consulting throughout the Persian Gulf. She has worked with the British Embassy in Bahrain as a warden and has vast national and international experience in global business.

Jinda’s holistic understanding of design and construction, underpinned by time spent in a mechanical engineering post working on various projects, including FPSOs, ideally positions her to add value to reverse engineering/ decommissioning. She is involved in a number of live decommissioning projects both offshore and at UK quaysides.

She has also spent a significant amount of time in the Far East and has worked within an international, award-winning design studio, where she worked on designing a theme park within a seismic area in Taiwan and several high profile shopping malls in China.

Jinda has been heavily involved with the Decom North Sea Decommissioning Leadership Group and served time in the Market Intelligence Group.

Jack Davidson (Managing Director of James Fisher Offshore)

Jack is the Managing Director for James Fisher Offshore Ltd which is the parent company for James Fisher Marine Services Sdn bhd, James Fisher Offshore Inc and our Middle East Branch. He is responsible for all offshore subsea supporting businesses and is the lead in developing and driving the James Fisher and Sons Plc Decommissioning Strategy with key markets for expansion being Asia Pacific, Americas, Middle East and UK. This see’s him leading a dedicated team within the core business in each of the nominated geographies to expand on the services currently delivered to meet the growing decommissioning markets.

With the initial stages of his career spent in the marine industry gaining experience across many aspects including offshore support vessels involved in construction, IRM and diving Jack then returned to an onshore position where he was involved in the decommissioning of the BP Miller which then sparked an involvement in decommissioning to the present day which has developed a full understanding of decommissioning from well severance through to structure removal.

With the James Fisher Offshore business now involved in live major decommissioning projects in the UKCS for Well Severance activities, the Middle East in platform and pipeline removal scopes and Asia Pacific with work there being both platform and well severance, Jack’s main responsibilities are developing local teams, developing regional operational capability and sharing practices or knowledge gained through past and live decommissioning projects endeavouring to share and build on lessons learnt across industry.

Based at the British High Commission in Kuala Lumpur, Sri leads on energy trade development in Southeast Asia for Scottish Development International, the Scottish Government’s international economic agency, focusing on offshore and renewable energy opportunities in Malaysia, distributed generation in Indonesia, hydrogen and decommissioning in Brunei, and offshore wind in Vietnam.

Prior to joining SDI, Sri worked on trade promotion and policy projects for the British Malaysian Chamber of Commerce, working closely with the UK Department for International Trade, and sat on the Chamber’s energy committee. He began his career with BP.
