Laurie Chua is a Human Resources professional with over twenty years of experience in every aspect of HR. She has used her HR expertise in various local and multinational organizations such as the Society of Human Resource Management, California Employer Association, SGIS, Websense, Pfizer, Dell Computers, and Borg-Warner Automotive. In 2009, Laurie started her own HR consulting business, providing guidance and counsel to business leaders in all things HR in order for them to focus on their business.

Laurie’s an HR expert in risk mitigation, employee relations, employee engagement and retention, compensation, and total rewards. She is a down to-earth leader who loves to mentor and develop business and HR leaders. Her vast experience spans across many industries including high tech, biotechnology, manufacturing, financial services, government contracting, nonprofits, and education.

As both a hands-on resource and strategic HR business partner she uses her in-depth knowledge of HR, authenticity, and collaborative skills resolve even the most challenging issues.

Laurie graduated from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock where she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Human Resources and Labor Relations. In addition, she has earned the SHRM-SCP and SPHR-CA. As professional trainer and facilitator, Laurie has presented to hundreds in topics focused on effective workplace strategies. She has facilitated both HRCI, HRCI-CA certification as well the SHRM Certification demonstrating an expert level knowledge of the human resource profession. Laurie is currently serving as a volunteer board member for the San Diego SHRM chapter as the VP of conferences and is an employee of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) as an expert HR Knowledge Advisor.
