Avril Parkin is currently the Director of Client Technology for Thomson Reuters in North Asia. Leading a team of Technical professionals in the region to drive strategic client engagement to address today’s business challenges. She is a global IT professional with more than 20 years experience, 15 within the financial services industry. Sharing insights on emerging technology themes ranging from big data challenges to distributed ledger technology and digital transformation. Prior to this Avril was supporting a large telecommunications company’s strategic growth, providing key industry insight to shape new technology solutions. Avril started her career in Network Engineering, Service Management and Solution Sales before her recent involvement in emerging technology and innovation. She is actively involved in various regional industry bodies, including; FIX Trading Community, British Chamber of Commerce (Innovation and Technology Committee), Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce (Digital, Information and Telecommunications Committee) and the FinTech Association, Hong Kong.

Ms Lam was the news editor for TVB News’ English service. She also anchored the news for more than 20 years. She trained reporters for TVB for many years and has extensive reporting experience. She began her career in publishing. She then worked in both radio and television at the BBC before returning to Hong Kong. She was born in Hong Kong and educated in Britain.

Jong Lee is Chairman of RGL Holdings, Ltd. He has spent over 20 years building, reinventing and advising businesses as a founder, executive, strategist, investor and attorney in the United States, Asia and Europe. Prior portfolio companies include Nexon, Starbucks (China), MTV Japan, Good Morning Securities (Korea) and SMIC (China).
His current areas of focus include a portfolio of early stage technology companies leveraging emerging technologies such as IoT, AI and robotics, social enterprises and business turnarounds in Asia, the U.S. and Europe. Jong’s serves as an advisor to cutting edge technology companies such as Afero and strategic advisor to multinational corporations, financial institutions and governments. Jong recently led RGL’s founding of Caswell, a first of its kind 200 acre campus in Los Angeles for innovation, creation and resolution and the recapitalization, restructuring and turnaround of Hanson Robotics. Jong led RGL’s founding of Bonham Strand, an award winning bespoke apparel social enterprise reaching out to disenfranchised master tailors, displaced garment workers and youth fighting drug addiction, Hong Kong Commons, a leading co-work and incubator platform and Lots of Buttons, the world’s largest online button and crafts retailer that actively recruits and hires displaced merchandisers in Hong Kong.
Jong’s enterprise and multinational experience in the US and across Asia ranges from many leveraged buyout transactions for leading private equity firms including KKR and Blackstone, strategic advisory for and joint ventures with Fortune 500 companies and turnarounds and restructurings for both private and publicly listed businesses. As an attorney and as a commercial client, Jong has been involved in a range of civil litigation, arbitration and mediation matters in the United States, Korea, Japan and Hong Kong.
Jong earned his Juris Doctor degree from Columbia University where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, an honors graduate of the Parker School of International Law and founding Editor in Chief of the Columbia Law School Journal of Asian Law. He graduated with honors from the University of Pennsylvania with degrees in Bioengineering and Political Science. Jong was admitted to the New York Bar in 1996 and still actively maintains his license primarily to provide pro bono legal assistance on select matters. Jong is co-curator of TEDxHongKong and TEDxHongKongEducation, teaches business reinvention at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, regularly lectures at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong University and the City University of Hong Kong and served on the Intellectual Property Trading Working Committee for the Hong Kong Government.
Jong is frequently invited to speak around the world on geopolitical macro-economics, social entrepreneurship, innovation and the impact of big data, IoT, AI and robotics in the marketplace. Recent engagements include the Morgan Stanley’s China Summit, Nobel Laureates Symposium, the Pictet Global Entrepreneurship Summit, Wharton Business Radio, the Russian Economic Forum, DLD (Munich), Pioneers Festival (Vienna), Europas (London), the Wall Street Journal, the Greater China Intellectual Property Symposium, the American Chamber of Commerce (HK) and the Hong Kong Department of Justice. Jong also speaks at private events organized or hosted by leading MNCs.

Kristen Carusos is on the organizing committee for the Artificial Intelligence Society of Hong Kong as well as the Market Development Manager at EventBank, an engagement management platform that works with chambers of commerce, industry associations, and high-volume event organizers. After working in multiple industries in Beijing including radio broadcasting at Beijing Foreign Language Radio Station, event management, and software solution sales, she transferred to Hong Kong to help build and open the market as EventBank expanded into the APAC region. Whilst in Beijing, she was a founding member of Beijing Women’s Network, a network of over 1600 foreign and Chinese professionals in Beijing. She co-chaired the Professional Development series with topics including “Corporate Social Responsibility”, “Women in Technology”, and “Chinese Social Media.” She is passionate about artificial intelligence, fintech, and the changing media and political landscape in Asia. She is also on the Young Professional Committee at the American Chamber of Commerce and speaks French and Mandarin.
