Congresswoman Kyrsten Sinema was elected in November 2012 as the U.S. Representative for Arizona's 9th congressional district. A member of the Democratic Party, she has served in both chambers of the Arizona legislature, being elected to the Arizona House of Representatives in 2005 and the Arizona Senate in 2011.
The congresswoman is now a five-time recipient of the US Chamber’s Spirit of Enterprise Award which is given to elected officials who consistently vote for business-friendly policies.
Dr. Chris Bustamante is the president of Rio Salado College and the Maricopa Corporate College, each located in Tempe, Arizona. Both institutions are part of the Maricopa County Community College District (MCCCD) which serves approximately 200,000+ students annually.
Dr. Bustamante is a well-known advocate for increasing access to higher education and degree completion. In addition, he is highly regarded for forging transformational partnerships with business, government and other educational providers.
Vartan Djihanian is the Western Region Manger for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. He is responsible for helping to develop pro-business legislative and political activities in five western states: Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, and Utah.
Since joining the Chamber, Vartan has worked to build and maintain relationships with members of Congress, activate Chamber membership on key policy issues, recommend federal candidates for political endorsements, and develop relationships with the media.
