Dr Hans-Martin Stockmeier is a senior partner in McKinsey’s Dubai office. For more than 25 years, Hans-Martin has served clients in the financial-services sector—retail and commercial banks, wealth-management providers, securities exchanges, and financial regulators—on a wide range of topics. Hans-Martin moved to the Middle East in 2003 and speaks German, English, French and Spanish.

Dr Hans-Martin is an expert on corporate governance, strategy, organisation, and operations and has wide experience in working on projects together with GCC BDI across all sectors. Prior to joining McKinsey, Hans-Martin worked at Deutsche Bank in commercial banking, as well as for the investment banking division of Union Bank of Switzerland in Frankfurt.

Dr Hans-Martin holds under graduate degrees in economics from the University of Witten/Herdecke (Diploma) in Germany and Carleton University in Canada. He completed his academic education with a Masters degree in Finance from the London School of Economics and a doctorate degree in financial economics from Humboldt University in Berlin.

Dr. Nina Spielmann is a global Senior Expert for McKinsey Board Services based in Zurich. She works exclusively on Corporate Governance and Board of Director related topics across different industries and ownership structures globally. She has in the past also worked on several different projects together with GCC BDI. She is one of the core leaders of McKinsey’s Global Board Service Line.

Nina serves on the Board of Trustees of the International Board Foundation in Switzerland which runs the Swiss Institute of Directors. She is a visiting lecturer at the University of St.Gallen on board governance and also runs different research efforts on board effectiveness. Recent articles of Nina’s include “Four essential questions for boards to ask about generative AI” (2023), “Five ways to increase your board’s long-term impact” (2022), “Boards in the time of coronavirus” (2020), and “A time for boards to act” (2018).

She holds a PhD in International Corporate Governance from the University of St.Gallen, Switzerland, and a double master’s degree in Accounting and Finance and CEMS MIM from the University of St.Gallen and Helsinki School of Economics. Before joining McKinsey & Company she worked for two global banks in Switzerland and abroad.
