The events of the past year have presented a number of challenges for everyone in higher education. The COVID-19 pandemic, divided politics, and a fractured justice system has put a magnifying glass on the inequities in education and social issues. Instead of hoping for a return to "normal", leaders look to embrace change, finding new ways to take what we've learned during these tumultuous times and use the lessons to create a "New Normal" that provides opportunities for all to thrive.

How do we forecast the future of times that many have called "unprecedented"? Forecasting in and of itself is an art form, the sometimes imperfect act of trying to predict the future. Using the combination of what we know about the past, the experiences of the present, and our hope for a better future, can we become those agents for change within our institutions and become champions of a brand new model of student success?

Our question: What does the new model of success look like for students, faculty and staff in art and design disciplines across higher education? What can we hope for in a world changed by COVID-19?
