Steve WaygoodChief Responsible Investment Officer at Aviva Investors Steve has always been fascinated by the power of money to change the world. He joined Aviva Investors in 2006, founding both the Global Responsible Investment team and also the Sustainable Finance Centre for Excellence. This seeks to transform capital markets so that they become more sustainable. Experience and qualifications Alongside Aviva Investors, Steve has also co-founded the Corporate Human Rights Benchmark, the World Benchmarking Alliance, and the UN Sustainable Stock Exchange Initiative. He started his career at WWF-UK in 1995, focusing on their ethical and environmental investment policy. Steve has subsequently advised the UK Government, the European Commission, the Financial Stability Board and the UN on the creation of sustainable capital markets. He holds a PhD in Sustainable Finance from the University of Surrey. Steve is also an Honorary Senior Visiting Fellow at City’s Business School, University of London and a Senior Associate at the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership. He has received awards from Brummell, the International Chamber of Commerce, the City of London, the United Nations Foundation, Yale and Harvard.

Adam Davids was one of the pioneers behind CareerTrackers and CareerSeekers and has undertaken ground breaking work to identify global racial equity standards for businesses to make an impact with underrepresented minorities. Over the years Adam has established a network of leading academics, NGOs, and business leaders to promote equity, justice, and the self-determination of racial minorities around the world. His career and research have shed light on global issues around racial wealth inequality, the lack of diversity in leadership, and how to build sustainable and high-impact non-profits.
Sean CarmodyExecutive Director of APRA Dr Sean Carmody is the Executive Director for the Insurance Division of APRA. The division is responsible for the prudential supervision of the insurance industry, including general insurance, life insurance and friendly societies and private health insurance. Sean joined APRA in December 2017 as the Executive General Manager, Risk and Analytics Division. Sean has over 20 years experience across banking, financial markets and funds management. Prior to joining APRA he was General Manager, Risk Analytics and Insights at Westpac where he had responsibility across risk modelling and reporting, market risk and liquidity risk. He has also held roles at Westpac as Head of Credit Risk, Head of Market Risk and the Head of Credit Portfolio Management in WIB. His previous experience includes working in funds management (Barclays Global Investors) and investment banking (Deutsche Bank) and his qualifications include a PhD in Pure Mathematics from St John's College, Cambridge.
Jacqueline FoxChief Climate Officer at NAB Jacqui Fox was appointed as National Australia Bank’s inaugural Chief Climate Officer in December 2022. She joined National Australia Bank in 2001 and has over 25 years of financial industry experience across a range of commercial and risk management disciplines including treasury debt & capital management, structured finance credit ratings, securitisation origination and portfolio management and capital markets. Previously Jacqui was Executive for NAB’s Capital Markets business including a dedicated Sustainable Finance team and co-developed NAB’s Corporate & Institutional Bank sustainability strategy and Sustainability SteerCo member. She also participated in the development of NAB’s Sustainability Strategy during the past two years and is passionate about supporting and creating prosperity for customers in Australia’s transition to a low carbon economy. Jacqui has extensive leadership experience and is a director and chair on several NAB subsidiaries. She is mum to four perpetually active teenagers/kids and enjoys Australia’s great outdoors and travelling.
Alison ChanInvestment Director - Sustainable Finance of Metrics Credit Partners As Investment Director – Sustainable Finance, Alison leads the sustainability initiatives of Australian non-bank corporate lender and alternative asset manager, Metrics Credit Partners. She is responsible for developing sustainable investment strategies, as well as working with investee companies to support their transition to a low carbon economy through sustainable finance. She was a member of ASFI’s Taxonomy Advisory Group and co-ordinates Metrics’ relationships with leading industry organisations including PRI, UN Global Compact Network, RIAA, IGCC, Climate Bonds Initiative and PCAF. Alison's team is responsible for measuring Metrics’ carbon footprint and reporting progress against its science-based emissions reduction targets under the Net Zero Asset Managers initiative. In 2023, Metrics’ leadership in pursuit of net zero was recognised through the Net Zero Action Award at the 34th National Banksia Awards. Alison holds a Bachelor of Science (Chemistry) and Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the University of Sydney and has more than 20 years’ experience in international banking and finance, having worked in Australia, the UK and Europe.

Purdie BowdenProgram Lead, Policy and Sustainable Finance Solutions at Australian Sustainable Finance Institute Purdie is the Lead Policy and Sustainable Finance Solutions at the Australian Sustainable Finance Institute (ASFI). ASFI represents large Australian financial institutions working to realign the Australian financial system for a more resilient, sustainable and inclusive Australia. Purdie has extensive experience in climate and sustainable finance policy and programs. She was formerly a lead negotiator for the Australian Government in the UNFCCC, including the Paris Agreement negotiations. With recent experience designing and implementing climate finance policy and investments for the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Purdie brings a strong understanding of the international, regional and domestic policy environment on climate and sustainable finance. Purdie holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hon), Bachelor of Arts, and a Master of Environment.
Rhian-Mari ThomasChief Executive Officer at Green Finance Institute Dr. Rhian-Mari Thomas is Chief Executive of the Green Finance Institute, backed by the UK Government and City of London Corporation. Ian LearmonthCEO of Clean Energy Finance Corporation Mr Learmonth has more than 30 years’ experience as a financier and investor, having worked in Australia, Asia and Europe across asset finance, clean energy and major infrastructure projects, as well as pioneering Australian social impact investing. Prior to his appointment as CEO for the CEFC, Mr Learmonth established Social Ventures Australia’s Impact Investing business, which included raising venture capital and affordable housing funds as well as launching Australia’s first Social Impact Bond in 2013. Previously an Executive Director of Macquarie Group for 12 years, Mr Learmonth has extensive global investment banking experience establishing various Macquarie businesses, notably European renewable energy and carbon credit investing as well as cross-border asset and structured finance and securitisation in Asia and Europe. Mr Learmonth has degrees in Law and Commerce from the University of Queensland. He is a director of venture capital firm Virescent Ventures and has been a long-standing director of Sydney’s Belvoir Street theatre company.
Kirsty MooreCEO of Indigenous Business Australia Kirsty leads Indigenous Business Australia (IBA), a Commonwealth Government commercial entity which delivers financial services to advance the economic circumstances of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across Australia. IBA achieves it purposes through provision of supported, concessional home loans for first home buyers and commercial finance to early stage and growing Indigenous businesses. Kirsty joined IBA in 2018 after three years as a senior director with the WA Government where she had responsibility for shared equity and asset management of the $14.5bn WA social housing asset portfolio. A Councillor for the Australian Institute of Company Directors in WA and Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Kirsty has a strong background in technical accounting, corporate governance, and commercial finance. Prior to joining the public sector, Kirsty worked for National Australia Bank and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Dr. Arj DibleyHead of Sustainable Finance Hub at Melbourne Climate Futures, University of Melbourne Dr. Arjuna (‘Arj’) Dibley is the Head of the Sustainable Finance Hub, part of Melbourne Climate Futures at the University of Melbourne. Arj joined the University after a decade of experience working on climate change and sustainable finance globally as a financial sector adviser, commercial lawyer and senior policy analyst. Arj’s research has been published in top academic journals and has been cited by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. He has led international reports on sustainable finance for the UN Environment Program and global development banks. Arj continues to advise financial institutions, businesses and governments on various aspects of climate change policy and sustainable finance. He holds a doctorate in climate change law and economics from Stanford University which he gained as a John Monash Scholar, and he is a Fellow at the Centre for Policy Development, a Board Member of CarbonPlan and an Honorary Research Associate at the University of Oxford.
Ben BrochéAssociate Director | Climate Finance of Climate Policy Initiative Ben Broché leads CPI’s Global Innovation Lab for Climate Finance (the Lab). The Lab is a coalition of over 70 governments, development finance institutions, and private investors that identifies, develops, and launches innovative financial instruments to drive billions to renewable energy, energy efficiency, sustainable cities, land-use, and other sectors. The Lab has mobilized more than $3 billion in investment toward climate action in developing and emerging economies. Ben directs all aspects of the Lab, including to coordinate a global team of analysts to identify, screen, develop, and launch solutions, collaborate with CPI leadership and Lab funders to set and implement the strategic direction for the program, oversee the Lab’s analytical process and deliverables, and manage engagement with investors, funders, and other stakeholders. Ben contributes regularly to CPI publications and thought leadership, including blogs, Lab research reports, and webinars, in addition to representing the Lab externally at conferences and events. Recently, he has worked on the development of two energy access focused instruments – the Green Aggregation Tech Enterprise (GATE), Solar Securitization for Rwanda, and The Breathe Better Bond. Before joining CPI in 2015, Ben spent several years at Business for Social Responsibility (BSR), an international consultancy and business network focused on sustainability, where he managed global business and multi-stakeholder collaborations focused on corporate sustainability and climate strategy. Prior to that, Ben was with Give2Asia, which advises companies and foundations on their charitable investments in Asia. Ben holds a M.Sc. in International Development Studies from the University of Bristol.

Ben AinsworthDirector, First Nations Policy Unit of Treasury Ben’s people are the Gija from Halls Creek in Western Australia. Ben has worked to increase the role Commonwealth Treasury plays in the First Nations space and has driven the application of an economic lens to First Nations policy. He strongly views sound economic principles underpinning all policies directed to First Nations people and has successfully overseen the development of the First Nations Policy Unit within Treasury to achieve this goal. This approach will increase the success of policies and increase the ability of First Nations people to achieve economic growth and generate wealth. Ben has worked in Treasury on a range of issues ranging from international economics to foreign investment to market conduct before moving into the FNPU in May 2023. Kristy GrahamChief Executive Officer at Australian Sustainable Finance Institute Kristy is the inaugural CEO of ASFI. Established following the collaborative effort to develop the Australian Sustainable Finance Roadmap, ASFI works to create a financial system in Australia that can support a sustainable, resilient and prosperous future for all Australians. By working across the finance sector, with government, regulators, research institutions and peak bodies, ASFI drives implementation of the Australian Sustainable Finance Roadmap. With a background in sustainable finance and impact investing across the public and private sectors, prior to ASFI Kristy led the Australian Government’s work with private and institutional investors to mobilise capital for climate and social impact in Australia, Southeast Asia and the Pacific. In this role she established the Australian Government’s first impact investment fund, designed to build sustainable and inclusive financial markets in Southeast Asia. She was also a special advisor on the Prime Minister’s Social Impact Investing Taskforce in 2020. She has previously worked in Australia, Latin America, the UK and in global roles for large and small organisations, driving global progress on sustainability issues. She holds a BSc (Environmental) and a Masters in Environmental Law from the University of Sydney and an MBA (Social Impact) from AGSM at UNSW.
Dr. Sue OgilvyProgram Director of Farming for the Future Sue is the Program Director of Farming for the Future, Macdoch Foundation’s flagship program. She leads a team to deliver a collective impact through public interest research and a change program all designed to secure new investment in on-farm natural capital. Dr Ogilvy has a PhD from the Australian National University and is Australia’s leading natural capital accounting expert. Her research to date has focused on adapting and extending financial accounting concepts and standards and developing practical and useful measurement methods to enable farmers and their advisors to include ecosystems (natural capital) as part of their asset base. Her vision is of the development of an open natural capital accounting standard that forms a foundation for social and environmental-economic improvements in agriculture and investment in natural capital.

He was recently recognised internationally for his work, announced in the inaugural 50 Next: People Shaping the Future of Gastronomy cohort. Arianna CowlingDirector, Financing Solutions for Nature of Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water Arianna is the Director of Financing Solutions for Nature in the Australian Government Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water. In her role, she sits on the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) Stewardship Council, and manages the Australian Government’s TNFD work program and stakeholder engagement. Previously, Arianna held several roles at Treasury, working on taxation, superannuation and retirement income policy, modelling and forecasting, and roles at the Reserve Bank of Australia. Matteo BigoniHead of Taxonomies at Climate Bonds Initiative Matteo is the current Head of Taxonomies at CBI, having previously worked at CBI as Head of Certification. He managed the Climate Bonds Standard and Certification Scheme and worked with many green bond stakeholders including external reviewers, government agencies, potential issuers and development banks. Prior to CBI, he was Programme Manager for the Plan Vivo Standard, a set of requirements for smallholders and communities wishing to manage their land more sustainably. From 2009 to 2014, he worked on the development of projects under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) in West Africa. He also worked in Beijing under the EU-China Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) Facilitation Project. More recently, he was Senior Climate Finance Specialist at FSD Africa and Climate Executive at British International Investment (BII – former CDC Group), the UK’s development finance institution, where he focused on Adaptation and Resilience as well as climate finance investments.

Jo helped establish and is a board member of a private Cancer treatment & trials centre in Auckland. She is a board member of B Lab AANZ, the non-profit organisation that supports the Australasian community of certified B Corps. On her return to Aotearoa in 2015 Jo spent four years with Deloitte NZ.
Brian CahillGlobal Head ESG at Moody's Investors Service Brian Cahill is the Managing Director and the Global Head of ESG for Moody’s Investors Service. In his role, Brian leads Moody's strategy for incorporating Environmental, Social, and Governance factors - including climate risk - into credit ratings, analytics, research, and outreach. He also has overall responsibility for its debt capital market sustainable finance solutions such as second party opinions. He is responsible for ensuring that Moody's is at the forefront of meeting these growing market needs from investors, issuers, and other important stakeholders. Brian has more than twenty-four years of credit experience at Moody's. He has coordinated Moody's Investors Service ESG initiative since 2014, building a strong platform for analytics, research, and outreach in respect of ESG. Brian has held various senior analytical and management positions with Moody's. He joined the company in 1996, working first in Structured Finance and then in Corporate Finance. He was the regional head of the Asia Corporate Finance franchise from 2002 to 2020. In addition, he led the Asia project and infrastructure team from 2002 to 2018 and the Asia financial institutions team from 2009 to 2016. He was the country manager for Australia from 2005 to 2009. Prior to joining Moody's, Brian practiced as a lawyer in London, New York, and Sydney. He received an MA and Master of Law from St. John's College, Cambridge University.
Charles DavisManging Director, Sustainable Finance and ESG of Commonwealth Bank Charles established Commonwealth Bank's sustainable finance team as Managing Director, Head of Sustainable Finance and ESG. For more than two years he has led the development of CBA’s sustainable finance business, in addition to working on numerous broader industry and CBA Group initiatives in this area. Prior to this, he led the energy team with a strong focus on large-scale renewable projects. In his time at CBA, he has also worked in relationship management and product roles delivering project, acquisition and corporate financing transactions across a number of different sectors in Australia and globally. Prior to moving to Australia, Charles worked in London for over 10 years with roles in finance, business development, project finance and origination/trading across the energy and renewables sectors in Europe. Emma GarlettIndustry Fellow at The Sustainable Minerals Institute, University of Queensland Emma Garlett is Nyungar-Nyiyaparli-Yamatji woman from Geraldton. Emma is a legal academic and an Industry Fellow at the Sustainable Minerals Institute at The University of Queensland. Prior to commencing a career in academia Emma practised as a solicitor in planning and environment law at a top-tier law firm in Perth. Emma is a regular First Nations legal and business social commentator, and writes weekly columns in print and online for The West Australian. Emma was appointed to and sits on both the Law Society of Western Australia’s Commercial Law Committee and Indigenous Legal Issues Committee. Emma has presented her legal research to the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, and various international (UCLA, University of Arizona) and domestic conferences (ANU, NELA, EDO). She is the winner of the 2022 Wesfarmers John Monash Scholarship (the Australian equivalent to a Rhodes and Fulbright Scholarship). She is also the winner of the 2022 CareerTrackers Alumni Excellence Award.
Zak MayExecutive Director - Strategy and Policy of IFM Investors Zak May is an Executive Director at IFM Investors, and is part of IFM’s global management team. Zak is responsible for developing and leading IFM’s public policy program and supporting the firm’s strategy to represent a distinct form of capital that delivers superior sustainable long-term investor returns in a manner that respects the environment, labour rights and the communities in which IFM’s assets operate. He is also the co-lead of the IFM firm-wide climate change strategy. Zak joined IFM with significant experience in both the public and private sector. Prior to joining IFM, Zak was Director of Policy for Industry Super Australia, where Zak led the development and advocacy of the industry superannuation sector’s policy positions, the organisation’s research function, and strategic projects on matters of common interest among the industry superannuation funds. Before relocating to Australia, Zak served on the executive staff of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission, after working as an attorney at Shearman & Sterling in San Francisco and at Weil, Gotshal & Manges in New York. Zak is a frequent participant in industry, government, and civil society expert panels. Zak holds a doctor of law from New York University, and is admitted to practice law in several jurisdictions.
Nicole Yazbek-MartinProgram Lead; Taxonomy and Natural Capital at ASFI Nicole is leading the development of the Australian Sustainable Finance Taxonomy at the Australian Sustainable Finance Institute (ASFI), working closely with government and regulators to develop common definitions for sustainable economic activities and investments. Nicole has a background in climate and sustainability across government, banking, private equity and law. In the public service, she led the Australian Government’s engagement with the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD), representing Australia on the TNFD Stewardship Council. Prior to this she led the reviews and research function at the Australian Climate Change Authority. Nicole holds a Master of Laws in international trade and post-graduate qualifications in finance and economics.
Dr Guy DebelleFormer Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of Australia, Co-Chair of the Taxonomy Technical Expert Group Guy Debelle was the Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of Australia from September 2016 until March 2022, and prior to this was the Assistant Governor (Financial Markets) from 2007-2016. He is an adviser to the Investment Committee at Australian Retirement Trust, a nonexecutive director at Tivan, and is co-chair of the Australian Sustainable Finance Institute’s (ASFI) Taxonomy Technical Expert Group (TTEG). Dr Debelle has previously held roles at the International Monetary Fund, Bank for International Settlements, and the Australian Treasury and at Fortescue Future Industries as Chief Financial Officer in June 2022 and then moved to become non-executive director of FFI Australia in December. Dr Debelle is an honorary adjunct professor of economics at Adelaide University. He has also been a visiting Professor in Economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Guy graduated with a Bachelor of Economics (Honours) from the University of Adelaide and gained a Ph.D. in Economics from MIT.
Nathan FabianChief Sustainable Systems Officer at Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) Nathan Fabian is the Chief Sustainable Systems Officer at the United Nations-supported Principles for Responsible Investment. He directs and oversees the PRI’s Investment Practices, Active Ownership, Policy & Research, ESG, Climate Change and SDG activities. Nathan is also the Rapporteur for the Taxonomy Group of the EU Technical Expert Group on Sustainable Finance. He was an Observer on the EU High Level Expert Group on Sustainable Finance and part of the Secretariat for the UK Green Finance Taskforce. Prior to the PRI, Nathan was the CEO of the Investor Group on Climate Change (IGCC) Australia and New Zealand. Previous roles include Head of ESG Research at Regnan, a provider of ESG research and engagement services; founding Partner of Full Corp Partners, a financial services and IT start-up company advisory firm; and Corporate Governance Policy Advisor to Senator Penny Wong of Australia.
Robynne QuigginPro-Vice-Chancellor (Indigenous Leadership And Engagement) at University of Technology Sydney Professor Robynne Quiggin is a member of the Wiradjuri nation of central western New South Wales. She has lived and worked in Sydney, practicing as a solicitor and consultant for 15 years with a focus on legal, compliance and policy areas of relevance to Indigenous Australians including human rights, financial inclusion, financial services, consumer issues, governance, the arts and heritage. Prior to her appointment at UTS, Robynne was Deputy Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social Justice Commissioner at the Australian Human Rights Commission.She has a long standing commitment to a rights based framework as a mechanism for individuals and communities to pursue their social, economic, cultural, linguistic and artistic priorities. She has participated in a number of international human rights and biodiversity forums and published on the role of rights in relation to the economic, cultural, artistic and scientific work of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians. Robynne has undertaken a number of appointments by the NSW and Commonwealth Governments including the Aboriginal Trust Fund Repayment Scheme Panel and the Commonwealth Consumer Advisory Committee. In 2014 she was recognized among the Australian Financial Review's 100 Women of Influence. Robynne worked at UTS in the early 2000s as a part time senior researcher at Jumbunna and lecturer in the Faculty of Law's Indigenous legal subjects, focusing on land law (land rights and native title) and race and the law. She is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) and has served on the board of Arts Law Centre of Australia, the Council of the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS) and Gadigal Information Services. Robynne is currently deputy chair of the board of Bangarra Dance Theatre, a Trustee of the Australian Museum, chair of Westpac's Reconciliation Action Plan Committee, chair of First Hand Solutions and a member of the Indigenous Law Bulletin's Editorial Panel.

Simon works with RIAA’s almost 500 member organisations that represent over US$29 trillion in assets, with the goal of delivering on RIAA’s mission of promoting, advocating for, and supporting approaches to responsible investment that align capital with achieving a healthy and sustainable society, environment and economy. Simon is active across the region and internationally in responsible investment and sustainable finance initiatives. He sits as an advisory member to the Australian Sustainable Finance Institute, Chair of the Global Sustainable Investment Alliance, as well as a member of the National Advisory Board on Impact Investing in New Zealand.
Katerina KimmorleyHead of Commercial and Investments at Boundless Earth Katerina is the Head of Commercial and Investments at Boundless - investing to help Australia become a renewable superpower. She serves on the NSW Net Zero Emissions and Clean Economy Board, as well as the board of Allume Energy. Katerina worked at the Clean Energy Finance Corporation’s Venture Capital Innovation Fund and was a founder of Pollinate Energy. This award-winning organisation is the largest provider of solar lighting to slum communities in India and Nepal. Katerina is an international advocate for climate finance and was recognised in the Australian Financial Review’s 100 Women of Influence. She was the London School of Economics Entrepreneur of the Year and was awarded the Prince of Wales Young Sustainability Entrepreneur Prize. Katerina was a Chevening Scholar at the London School of Economics, where she studied Environmental Economics and Climate Change.
Alix PearceSenior Manager, Climate Change and Resilience at Insurance Council of Australia Alix Pearce is an experienced leader, campaigner and policy professional, with a career specialised in climate change and social policy. Alix currently leads the climate action and social policy team at the Insurance Council of Australia. Prior to this she was the Head of Campaigns for the Climate Council, leading the organisation's advocacy and government relations team to accelerate Australia's trajectory to net zero. Alix has also been the Director of Policy and Campaigns for the Consumer Action Law Centre, leading a team of policy professionals, campaigners and communicators in the wake of the Banking Royal Commission. Alix was Founder and Director of the Cities Power Partnership, the biggest climate and energy program for cities in the country. She was awarded Campaigner of the year at the 2018 Third Sector awards and serve as a Board Director for Not-For-Profit Global Voices.
