This event has been cancelled due to the cancellation of APEC.
Join us in Santiago on November 14 for a discussion on the future of APEC. In our new capacity as Secretariat to the U.S. Committee for the Pacific Economic Cooperation Council (PECC), NCAPEC will be hosting a launch event for PECC's annual State of the Region report. The event will comprise two sessions; a discussion of the survey findings that form the basis of the report and a panel discussion on a post 2020 vision for APEC that will shed light on a path forward, identifying best practices, enabling targets, and other relevant areas of focus.
As the Asia-Pacific's premier vehicle for economic cooperation enters its fourth decade, it is critical to look beyond 2020 to develop a vision and structure that will ensure the group remains a catalyst for achieving progress across the policy spectrum. In the face of societal demands for increased access to economic opportunity, sharing the benefits of globalization and environmentally sustainable approaches to growth, as well as technological innovations that are transforming the nature of work, where should APEC target priority areas? How can APEC make good on ideas, aspirations, and needs? What is the role for public-private dialogue? Ultimately, is APEC ready? This policy forum will explore these and other questions, helping shed light on a path forward, identifying best practices, enabling targets, and other relevant areas of focus.
