Wangari Kimani is an award-winning marketer with a track record of high-performance commercial expertise. She currently holds the position of Marketing Head of Advertising Sales at the E-commerce marketplace, Jumia Kenya. This follows her successful promotion from the Commercial Head of Beauty & Personal Care, where she delivered on digital growth for brands such as Garnier, Maybelline, L'oreal Paris & Nivea on the Jumia platform.

During her tenure at Unilever, she established a notable track record in marketing strategy, specializing in reinstating heritage brands to their glory. She also played a pivotal role in the innovation launch and re-launches for brands like Pepsodent, Sunlight Hygiene, OMO Auto, and OMO Antibacterial range in East, West & South Africa. Additionally, she was instrumental in crafting and executing sustainable people-purpose strategies for brands like Sunlight.

With a passion for shopper marketing, Wangari has worked across East Africa, West Africa, and Brazil, establishing future-centric, world-class, value-driven working models on promotion ROI tracking, route to market, category management, and retail-customer collaboration.

Outside of her professional endeavours, Wangari is deeply committed to giving back to society through the Rotary organization. She serves as a marketing adviser on the fundraising committee, which raises funds for students' school fees and the installation of digital labs under the club's endowment fund and Digital Literacy Projects.

Her hobbies extend from yoga to the ocean and mountains. Wangari is an open-water diver, who has summited Mt. Kilimanjaro & Mt. Kenya, and is contemplating an attempt to climb the goddess of the skies, Mt. Everest.
