Dcn. Scott Hedges, M.D., DFAPA, OCDS, KHS
Dcn. Scott T. Hedges, M.D. is the Chief Medical Officer and Director of Laboratory Services with Seven Counties Services, Inc., the regional mental health center for Louisville, Kentucky, and surrounding counties.
Dr. Hedges is also Clinical Faculty with the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at his alma mater, the University of Louisville, School of Medicine, and Medical Director for St. Luke’s Institute, Louisville office. He is the Medical Director for Little Way Pregnancy Resource Center. His community service includes his membership and active participation in the St. Joseph’s Guild, the local guild of the Catholic Medical Association, the Community Health Committee of the Greater Louisville Medical Society, and the Committee on Community and Rural Health with the Kentucky Medical Association.
He is the 2021 Business First Healthcare Hero’s Award recipient, the 2019 American Psychiatric Association Irma Bland Excellence in Teaching recipient, the 2016 Louisville Future Compassion Champion, the 2010 Fellow for the National Council of Community Behavior Health Physician Leadership Program, a 2008 Fellow with the Health Enterprise Network. The Governor recently appointed him to serve on the Kentucky Department of Medicaid Services Pharmacy and Therapeutics committee. Dr. Hedges also serves as an expert witness with the Tribunal for the Archdiocese of Louisville and a Canon Law Society of America member.
Early in his career, Dr. Hedges did mission work in Nigeria through his community of faith. He is married and the father of two young men. Dr. Hedges has made his solemn promises as a Secular Carmelite, is a knight of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, a cooperator with Opus Dei, and was ordained a Deacon in the Archdiocese of Louisville in 2020 and is assigned to the parish of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church.
