Course Profile

The FINEX Academy Finance Leadership Program was thoughtfully designed based on a robust competency framework for modern Finance executives to ensure that participants get a solid technical grasp of the essential topics to be covered, and their practical application in the organizational setting.

Next year, 2024, the CFO Development Committee will be launching the FINEX Academy's full suite of Senior, Executive and Emerging Finance Leadership Programs and enrollment will begin soon.

The Senior Finance Leadership Program is principally designed for Chief Financial Officers and their identified successors who are being groomed to progress into the role in the near future.

The Executive Finance Leadership Program is designed for Financial Controllers, Treasury Heads, and other Finance Executives who are one to two years away from being ready to take on the Chief Financial Officer position.

The Emerging Finance Leadership Program is designed for Finance executives who aspire to be future CFOs, aiming to jumpstart their career development for progression in the next 3-5 years.

These programs provide the link between operational finance concerns and the increasingly strategic and future-focused challenges and expectations of Finance leaders.

Featuring recognized FINEX Faculty members, the program provides unique chances to learn from those who've been in their shoes and prevailed, on top of learning from our excellent learning providers and from interacting with the rest of their cohort.

Who Should Attend

The Emerging Leadership in Finance Program is designed for Finance practitioners who aspire to be in the Chief Financial Officer Position, needing to jumpstart their development for the 3-5 years to their succession. The program provides the learning and knowledge needed to achieve operational excellence, realizing that this needs a good exposure to the broader and higher matters surrounding operations. Aside from the practical learning from our learning providers and building their social capital among the members of their cohort, the program allows the participants to have meaningful conversations with experienced Finex Faculty members in each session.

The Executive Leadership Finance Program is designed for Financial Controllers Treasury Heads, and other Finance Executives who are one to two years away from the Chief Financial Officer position. The program provides the link between their operational concerns and the increasingly strategic and future-focused expectations of them. Featuring recognized FINEX Faculty members, the program provides unique chances to learn from those who've been in their shoes and prevailed, on top of learning from our excellent learning providers and from interacting with the rest of their cohort.

The Senior Leadership in Finance Program is designed for Chief Financial Officers, Chief Executive Officers, and their identified successors who are taking the positions in the immediate future. The program provides a unique opportunity to hear from and interact with awarded and noted Finex Faculty members, aside from learning from our program's learning providers and from the network of classmates that form in the cohorts.

Reynaldo P. Abilo VICE PRESIDENT FOR FINANCE, TREASURER AND CHIEF RISK OFFICER (Filipino) – has been appointed Director of the Corporation since 01 January 2021. He is likewise the Vice President-Finance, Treasurer and Chief Risk Officer of the Corporation. He is also a director on the boards of other Shell-affiliated companies. Prior to his current assignment, he was the Corporate Assurance Manager that established the assurance and internal audit function of the company. Mr. Abilo joined Shell in 2009 as the Retail Economics Manager in the Philippines where he distinguished himself by winning the 2012 Global CFO award for site profitability analysis and 2013 Downstream Director Award for Dealer Operated platform strategy. From 2012 to 2016, he was the Global Planning & Appraisal Manager for Marine Lubricants as well as Project & Economics Lead for Downstream Global Commercial (“GC”) based in Singapore where he successfully managed the various planning, appraisal, and reporting processes for Marine and capital investments in GC. In addition, he was appointed as Special Projects Advisor supporting the Global Downstream Marketing Growth Strategy as the Finance Lead. Prior to Shell, he worked in Ernst & Young and Colgate-Palmolive for a number of years in various finance positions in supply chain, sales and marketing. He is a Certified Public Accountant with over 16 years of experience in audit, accounting, economics, strategy development, business performance management, and commercial decision support. He graduated Cum Laude from the University of the Philippines (Diliman) with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Accountancy. He placed 11th in the October 2004 CPA Board exams.

Mignon Ramos is the Managing Director and Principal Consultant of Roadmaps and Beyond Inc. Her work is focused on both Strategy and Organizational Design and Development, including the design and definition of Competency Frameworks.

Mignon managed the definition of the Philippine Skills Framework for Human Capital Development for the Philippine Trade Training Center, as well as the competency and job design frameworks for several very large corporations.

For the FINEX Academy, Mignon was engaged to craft the CFO Course Competency framework and Course Design.

Mignon is an independent director of Niv Della (makers of Colourette Cosmetics).
She is a Member of the Board of Directors of FINEX, a member of the Board of Trustees of the FINEX Academy, and a member of the Council of Presidents of AIESEC Alumni Philippines, Inc.

Before her consulting days, Mignon built her career in Finance, becoming Chief Financial Officer and then Chief Executive officer of Otis Elevator Company in the Philippines, only the 2nd female to take both posts in the company’s 125 year history in the world.

Mignon is a Certified Public Accountant. She has a Masteral Degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and Accountancy, both from the University of the Philippines. She has also taken executive courses from the University of Virginia and Yale University, as well as with Hyper Island.
