Vicki Sebastiani

After developing a Food and Wine Marketing branch at Sebastiani Vineyards to promote "the marriage of wine and food," along with "A Taste of Tuscany" dinners and events both at the Sonoma winery and locations throughout the country, Vicki went on to build Viansa Winery & Italian Marketplace with her former husband on a hillside in Sonoma.

Here she further developed the concept of food and wine, creating very successful culinary selections for their "Cal-Ital" deli and a wide variety of jarred delights for sale in the Marketplace. Viansa also served her specialty foods and recipes in their special event menus and she was eventually persuaded to publish them in her Cucina Viansa cookbook.

Throughout her culinary and marketing career Vicki always promoted creating successful, tasty recipes that needed to appeal to the experienced cook, yet be basic enough for the novice cook. That, plus firmly believing one need not attend culinary school to cook well, were the cornerstones of her approach to cooking.
