Professor Damilola S. Olawuyi is a Professor of Law and Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic, Research Innovation & Strategic Partnerships (ARISP) at Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti (ABUAD). He holds a doctorate (DPhil) in energy and environmental law from the University of Oxford; a master of laws (LL.M.) from Harvard University; and another LL.M. from the University of Calgary.
He obtained a first-class degree in law from Igbinedion University, Nigeria and another first-class degree from the Nigerian Law School, Abuja, Nigeria.
A prolific and highly regarded scholar, Professor Olawuyi has published over 100 influential articles, books, and reports on energy finance, sustainable development law and extractive resource governance. He has lectured on energy and environmental law in over 40 countries in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, North America and the Middle East. He has served as a visiting professor at Columbia Law School, New York, China University of Political Science and Law and senior visiting research fellow at the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies. In 2019, he was a Herbert Smith Freehills visiting professor at Cambridge University. He was formerly an international energy lawyer at Norton Rose Fulbright Canada LLP where he served on the firm's global committee on energy investments in Africa.

Shola Oshodi-John is the Chief Executive Officer/Registrar, and member of Faculty of the Nigerian Institute of Chartered Arbitrators, (NICArb) first Arbitration (and ADR) institute in Sub-Saharan Africa. She has extensive experience in training, policy and change management and has served as solicitor and legal adviser to corporate and not for profit organizations. Shola is an advocate for home-grown administration and development of arbitration and Alternative Dispute (ADR) practice in Nigeria (and Africa), Editor of the first and only Journal of Arbitration published by NICArb, a regular speaker at international and national conferences on Arbitration, and Alternative Dispute Resolution. She holds a degree in Law, LLB (Hons) from the Lagos State University, Lagos, BL degree from the Nigerian Law School and a Master's Degree in Public Policy and Management, with a certificate in Non-Profit Management from the University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, USA, Fellow, Nigerian Institute of Chartered Arbitrator, member, Institute of Transnational Arbitration, and Associate of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators.

commercial law firm based in Lagos, Nigeria. He has extensive experience in Admiralty law, Shipping & Marine
Insurance Law & Litigation, Ship Registration, Cabotage Registration & Compliance, Ship Finance & Securitization
and International Trade Law & Commercial Arbitration. He was part of the Lagos Team that compiled and drafted the
Final Report for the Presidential Committee on Maritime Sector Reform in 2012. He has acted as counsel to several
Nigerian and foreign shipping companies. He also has a reputation as a debt recovery and insolvency practitioner.
He has represented clients on a broad range of commercial transactions before trial and appellate courts all over
Nigeria. In addition, Shola is a seasoned arbitrator and has represented the firm in numerous local international

Her work experience covers both domestic and international commercial legal matters. She is a member of the panel of neutrals of a number of arbitral institutions including the Lagos Multi-Door Court House, Nigeria.
As a mediator and arbitrator, she has handled cases in finance, construction and maritime. In addition, she is a student member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants UK where she has acquired an Advanced Diploma in Accounting Business enroute to being a Chartered Accountant.
She obtained her LLB degree from the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, in 2004. She had her Masters degree in International and Comparative Law at the American University in Cairo (AUC), Egypt in 2008.
An avid writer, she has written several papers. She is the current Director General of the African Shipowners Association of Nigeria. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants and a Certified Management Specialist (CMS). She has served the Nigerian Bar Association Lagos Branch in several capacities and is the current Treasurer (2019-2021).
She is a member of Women's International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA) (Nigerian Chapter) and was the chief editor of the annual WISTA-Nig Journal from 2016 – 2019.
