Porcelain War

Amidst the chaos and destruction of the brutal Russian invasion of Ukraine, three artists defiantly find inspiration and beauty as they defend their culture and their country. In a war waged by professional soldiers against ordinary civilians, Slava Leontyev, Anya Stasenko, and Andrey Stefanov choose to stay behind, armed with their art, their cameras, and, for the first time in their lives, their guns.

The Barber of Little Rock

Experiencing the effects of generational poverty and structural racism firsthand, Arlo understands his hometown of Little Rock, Arkansas and the profound mistrust of financial institutions that have historically excluded his community from financial stability and economic mobility. Chasing Time

If a single photo can inspire change, how influential are a million images? The team behind Chasing Ice reunites for one final mission to close out the Extreme Ice Survey project. Cycling Without Age

Cycling Without Age is a film about the power of feeling the wind in your hair, no matter where you are on life's journey. It follows the story of a retired teacher and his merry group of volunteers as they use pedal-powered rickshaws to give rides to those who have lost the ability to pedal themselves. Through the intimate moments of these rides, the film presents a unique portrait of aging: asking audiences to consider the importance of the outdoors for those who are all too often trapped inside.

Max: One Last Favor

Abandoned by the United States as the Taliban retakes his country, Afghan interpreter Max strives to keep himself and his family alive while a group of devoted retired Marines and their network struggle to navigate American bureaucracy and bring their brother-in-arms safely to the U.S. Told through emails, text messages and voice memos as he attempts to escape the murderous regime, the film exposes America's abdication of moral responsibility to help the allies that staked their lives on U.S. promises.

Tehachapi

French street artist JR uses his portrait photography to draw worldwide attention to people who are often neither heard nor seen— like the inmates of the California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi. Here, convicts are serving long sentences which they often received when they were still minors. These are people who may never be able to escape the impulsive mistakes of their youth.

A Symphony of Tiny Lights

In 1971, John Francis witnessed an oil tanker collision in the San Francisco Bay. The sight of oiled birds on the shoreline caused him to give up motorized transport and speaking, convinced that listening was the way forward. He spent the next 17 silent years earning the name Planetwalker. Over the many miles, his idea of environmentalism was changed by the people he met and broke bread with.

Last Repair Shop

Since 1959, Los Angeles has been one of the few United States cities to offer and fix musical instruments for its public-school students at no cost. Those instruments, numbering around 80,000, are maintained at a Los Angeles downtown warehouse by a handful of craftspeople. The film profiles four of them, each specializing in an orchestra section, as well as students whose lives have been enriched by the repair shop's work.
