Roy Sharma is the Principal Officer and Managing Director of an international reinsurance company based in Kuala Lumpur office. Other than being the country manager for Malaysia he is also responsible for developing and assisting their clients in Asia in certain specialized areas of insurance. His specialized areas include among others Political, Project & Credit Risk Insurance, Professional Indemnity, Management Liability Insurance, Financial Lines Insurance, Casualty Insurance, Extended Warranty Insurance and Affinity & Niche Solutions.
He read law in the City of London and was called to the Malaysian Bar as an Advocate & Solicitor. He started his career in the insurance industry in 1994 as an Insurance Broker and joined Antah Sedgwick Chartered Insurance Brokers, thereafter he joined, Aon Risk Services Malaysia and Aon Risk Services Singapore. In April 2006 Roy then joined Arthur J Gallagher Asia (L) Bhd a reinsurance broker that was rebranded as Asia Reinsurance Brokers (Labuan) Ltd in 2008 after a management buy out and was its MD since 2007.
Roy is also the President Commissioner of PT ARB Indonesia and a Board member of ARB’s parent company. Roy is the current Chairman of the Labuan International Insurance Association.
Teck Siong started his insurance career in one of Malaysia’s homegrown insurance companies in early 2000 and is a proud graduate of MII’s Advance Diploma Program.
Teck Siong has been specializing in third-party liability risk and insurance over the last 18 years.
With Beazley since 2015, Teck Siong is presently leading the Cyber Risks underwriting for the Asia region.
Prior to Beazley, Teck Siong amassed over 10 years of insurance and reinsurance experience particularly in South East Asia and Greater China providing multifaceted third-party liability risk solutions to industries, executives, and professions.
Aaron has over 28 years of insurance and underwriting experience working in Asia, having been based out of Malaysia, Shanghai and Hong Kong. He has held roles as a broker, Financial Lines Regional Manager in South East Asia and North Asia, senior leadership positions, including establishing the Hong Kong operations of Berkley Insurance Asia. He is a graduate of the University of Bristol, UK.
Ernest joined Berkley after several years in the graduate programme and Financial Lines division of a multinational insurance brokerage. He graduated from Singapore Management University’s School of Economics and holds an Advanced Diploma in Insurance (ACII) from The Chartered Insurance Institute, UK.
Deva, or Mr. D as he is fondly known, graduated from Universiti Sains Malaysia with an Honors Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (Telecommunications Major) in 1999, and in 2003 he graduated with an honors degree in Law from the University of London.
He has in illustrious career starting off as a Loss Adjuster in an international adjusting firm then moving on into underwriting and ultimately finding peace at a multinational insurance broking house.
His forte is liability insurance with a keen interest in professional liability insurance, crime insurance, and most recently cyber security insurance.
He is a keen speaker and has presented in a multitude of platforms both local and regional.
Tunku Farik is a highly experienced lawyer with extensive expertise in Insurance/Reinsurance and Takaful/Retakaful Law for over 34 years. He holds degrees from Bristol and Cambridge and is a Barrister at Gray's Inn. He's a licensed advocate and solicitor in both Malaysia and Singapore, as well as an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
In addition to his legal qualifications, Tunku Farik has a distinguished record of involvement in professional organizations. He served as the Chair of the Inter-Pacific Bar Association (IPBA) Insurance Committee in 2016-2017 and held vice-chair positions from 2007-2011 and 2014-2016. He currently represents Malaysia as a Jurisdictional Council Member at the IPBA and is a member of the Malaysian Bar Arbitration sub-committee.
Tunku Farik has been a speaker at various conferences, including the International Insurance Fraud Conference, World Takaful Conference, 3rd Malaysia Insurance Summit, and Asian Captive Conference. He has also presented at seminars organized by IPBA, Lexis Nexis, Bank Negara, and NICS. His impressive legal career includes appearances in significant insurance cases in both the Court of Appeal and Federal Court of Malaysia.
Deepak Gupta has done his Masters (MBA) in Insurance both life and non-life. He holds Associateship from the Insurance Institute of India (III), is a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) and Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS), and Associate Member of the Singapore Insurance Institute (SIA).
A known name as an “insurance professional”, “solution provider” and a “friend” among the Insurance/Reinsurance fraternity across the ASIAN region. My current assignment is with one of the largest reinsurance players in the world Swiss Re Asia Pte. Ltd, as Head of Facultative Casualty (Including Financial lines, Motor, and PA) for Greater China, India, and Southeast Asia Region, based out of Singapore.
