Robert Elliott

Dean of Berkeley Campus and Manufacturing and Maintenance Division at Tridenttech

As the Dean of the Berkeley Campus and the Manufacturing and Maintenance division at Trident Technical College (TTC). My education and training started at the Seafarer Harry Lundeberg School of Seamanship where I earned several maritime certificates to launch my career as a sea going mariner. I also earned an Associate in Applied Science degree in Industrial Electrician and Automated Controls from Trident Technical College, a Bachelor of Science degree in Workforce Education Development from Southern Illinois University Carbondale, a Master of Science degree in Instructional System Design and Performance Improvement from The Citadel. I also have professional licenses; a Marine Engineer's Unlimited Horsepower of Diesel and Gas Turbine Vessels license and a Class “A” Commercial Truck Driver’s license.

As the Dean of Manufacturing and Maintenance, I am responsible for several divisional programs, to include Automotive Technology, Aeronautical Studies (Aircraft Maintenance, Avionics, and Aircraft Manufacturing), Commercial Truck Driving, Industrial Maintenance, Welding Technology, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, Diesel Mechanics and Machine Tool Technology.

I have over twenty years of machinery maintenance and repair experience and twelve years of teaching and technical education program development. I am passionate about educating and exposing individuals to new, life-changing career opportunities. My sole purpose for working at TTC is to assist students in realizing their true potential through the power of education and by exposing them to exciting and rewarding career fields.

Scott Herman (Spectrum Sailing)

Scott Herman

Spectrum Sailing

As a sailor for over 25 years Scott Herman truly enjoys his time on the water. Whether it’s a sunset cruise or the Chicago to Mackinac race he loves sailing. He has also dedicated his life to ensuring everyone gets that same chance to sail.

When his son Daniel was excluded from summer sailing camp because of his Autism, he decided to start the first local Autism Sailing Camp. That local camp proved successful and evolved into Spectrum Sailing (501c3). Spectrum Sailing is the only National Autism Sailing program. In 2023 Spectrum Sailing ran 8 FREE camps across the country, giving 160 Autistic kids the life changing experience of sailing camp. 2024 will include 10 cities, over 200 kids will get that experience all free for families.

Scott is lucky enough to have lived in Charleston, SC twice. He is blessed with two amazing boys, an awesome wife, and a belly-rub-loving dog Mona. When not running camps, he can often be found at the beach, on the powerboat, or on the occasional sail in Charleston Harbor.
