Supported by USAID Philippines, the Digital Democracy project responds to the need for faster and more cost-effective decision-making in local governance. The initiative aligns with the vision of a Digital Philippines, where digitalized government services promote transparency and efficiency, contributing to national economic growth. The project culminates in an Awards Ceremony that recognizes outstanding implementation of digital democracy, encouraging other LGUs to adopt similar practices in the Philippines.
Objective: To recognize outstanding city LGUs that have implemented DD initiatives from 2021-2024.
Impact: The Digital Democracy Awards promote the use of technology to enhance governance, fostering greater transparency, accountability, and citizen participation across the Philippines.
Milestones: From 2020 up to 2023, there have been 4,336 participants across various digital democracy initiatives in six areas: Pasig City, Intramuros, Himamaylan City, Victorias City, and Iligan City. 30 cities participated in the Digital Democracy training program.
