Nellie Wartoft (Founder and CEO of Tigerhall)

Nellie Wartoft

Founder and CEO of Tigerhall

Digital education has been a key interest for Nellie since her younger days. At the age of 16, she set up her first business in Sweden providing senior citizens with a platform to enhance their digital literacy. She also founded S.H.O.T in 2010, a marketing agency that helped businesses in Sweden and Singapore increase customer engagement and raise awareness through digital media.

Nellie moved to Singapore when she was 18 and has called the Lion City her home since then. Upon completing her university studies, she joined Michael Page International where she rose through the ranks to lead the sales and marketing recruitment practice in Singapore. She placed over 200 executives in regional roles and was the youngest Senior Consultant to ever be promoted at the firm worldwide. She was also consistently ranked in the top 3% of revenue generators at a group level.

It was during her time as a Practice Lead at Michael Page where she spotted various pressing skills gaps through the conversations she had with businesses and candidates. There was a big difference between what formal education provides and what organisations require from candidates. Nellie also wanted to give every professional, regardless of their background, the opportunity to get access to success.

With a prototype and strong vision in hand, Nellie founded Tigerhall last year to eradicate the skills gaps she spotted and to ensure that today’s professionals have all the tools they need to achieve their goals at their fingertips. She has steered the company through an action-packed first year of inception, growing the team from 2 to 15 and expanding to three new cities. Just last week, Tigerhall secured another $2mn of funding from Surge, which is Sequoia Capital India’s accelerator programme for early-stage ventures.
