OCPOA November Quarterly Training

Workshop Descriptions

8 Keys to Success: What Every Person on Supervision Needs to Know

The 8 Keys to Success, linked to criminogenic needs, identifies specific skills that can help people on supervision make long-term behavioral changes. The workshop will demonstrate how probation officers can translated complex theories and language into practical strategies and techniques that people can easily understand and use to make positive change in their lives.

Transforming Training into Practice

Agencies invest a considerable amount of time and resources into ensuring that staff are trained in the skills and knowledge that they need to perform their job. Unfortunately, these efforts often do not produce the expected results. Probation leadership can play a crucial role in implementing strategies to enhance the transfer of skills and knowledge to practice. This training will equip participants with the tools to enhance success within their departments.
