André holds degrees in Mechanical - and Industrial Engineering, and a PhD in human vibration engineering. He has 18 years international industry experience as engineering manager in Africa and Europe. His subsequent 19-year academic career produced several conference and journal publications, and peer-reviewed national and international publications.

He finds industry application in every research project he pursues. His research focuses on resource efficiency engineering management, using technology – and commercial readiness indicators for Industry 4.0 on emerging technologies like additive manufacturing and IoT for agricultural informatics systems development.
