This year's recipient of the ASU ROTC Navy Scholarship is Midshipman Andrew Snedecor.
Midshipman Andrew Snedecor was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona on November 16, 1999 to Mark and Jennie Snedecor, who are happily married of 24 years and have three children together: Jackson (22), Andrew (20), and Samuel (18). He attended Desert Vista High School where he played two years of varsity baseball and was also a line cook at a local restaurant, the Perfect Pear Bistro. Midshipman Snedecor was also involved in his high school's Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) for two years, during which he won Arizona's regional competition for inquiring entrepreneurs in 2018. During his senior year of high school, Midshipman Snedecor was awarded the four-year NROTC Marine option scholarship at Arizona State University. He is currently a sophomore majoring in finance. Through three semesters, Midshipman Snedecor earned a 4.0 cumulative GPA and has been selected for the Dean's list every semester. Much of his free time is spent playing intramural sports such as flag football and slow-pitch softball, as well as training for an Ironman triathlon in November 2020. Upon commissioning in May 2022, Midshipman Snedecor is driven to be a ground intelligence officer. His biggest aspirations in the Marine Corps are to lead Marines, push the marines he leads to their full potential, and for himself to be a leader that others want to follow. After his time in the Marine Corps, Midshipman Snedecor wants to use his finance degree to be a risk assessment consultant and possibly open his own financial consulting firm.
