Kathey is a nationally recognized small business strategist, award winning subject matter expert and frequent keynote speaker, panelist and workshop facilitator at conferences and events focusing on supplier diversity, economic inclusion, small business development/entrepreneurship and women's entrepreneurship and has addressed audiences at Fast Company, EY, Interise, Inc Magazine’s Inc 5000, ESSENCE Festival, The Conference Board, to name a few. She recently became a Linkedin Learning Instructor.

Kathey is the founder and principal of Porter Brown Associates, a certified minority, woman, veteran-owned, DBE training and professional services consultancy that advises organizations on building inclusive economic ecosystems through supplier diversity programs, inclusive diversity strategies and targeted entrepreneurship training programs. Her company was recognized as a 2020 Small Business Subcontractor of the Year. She’s also founder/lead instructor for the Supplier Diversity Training Institute (SDTI), a national training program for supplier diversity and procurement professionals, organizational stakeholders, etc. looking to gain proficiency in supplier diversity.

Kathey has been an Executive Coach/Instructor for several national business accelerators including Goldman Sachs Black In Business, Brookfield Properties, Inc Magazine’s Inc 5000, Small Business Administration’s Emerging Leaders Program, National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) and Babson College’s Black Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership Program, African American Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida (AACCCF) Accelerate Central Florida Program, Veterans In Business (Business Readiness and Veteran Optimization (B.R.A.V.O.) Program, U.S. Black Chambers (USBC) and the Greenwood Women’s Center.

Kathey is the author of 50 Billion Dollar Boss (Palgrave Macmillan), which was nominated for an NAACP Image Award, Implementing Supplier Diversity (Palgrave Macmillan) and Supplier Diversity for Dummies (Wiley). Her new book Big Tech Boss Energy, will be released in Spring 2025.

Phillip joined U.S. Black Chambers, Inc. with over 20 years of experience in Supply Chain Governance, Finance, Audit & Internal Controls in both the Energy and Aerospace & Defense industries. In addition, Phillip has passionately served the community for more than 5 years connecting Black-Owned Businesses and consumers across the United States through his work with the Black Business Focus Group and demonstrating his commitment to transforming impoverished communities through economic empowerment. Phillip is a member of the Houston Chapter of the National Black MBA Association and a member of the Greater Houston Black Chamber of Commerce.

Phillip currently serves as Program Manager with the United States Black Chambers, Inc where he is responsible for the coordination and administration of all aspects of ongoing programs, maintaining relationships with various stakeholders, and implementing strategies to better engage with Local Chamber partners and their member businesses. Phillip studied Accounting and Criminal Justice at Sam Houston State University and earned an MBA from the University of St. Thomas and holds multiple professional certifications. Phillip and his lovely wife Shebia have four children.
