A native of Phenix City, Alabama, Dr. Jay Price says he first found his love of animal care while spending summers on his grandparents’ farm helping to tend and care for its many animals. Dr. Price received his BS in Zoology at Auburn University and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine and served as President of Alpha Psi veterinary medical fraternity.

Dr. Price is a veterinarian and the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Southern Veterinary Partners in Birmingham. Prior to forming Southern Veterinary Partners, Dr. Price owned Oak View Animal Hospital and Patton Chapel Animal Clinic - the original animal hospitals within Southern Veterinary Partners.

His many duties at Southern Veterinary Partners keep him away from seeing patients at the veterinary hospitals, but his areas of particular professional interest include oncology, internal medicine, surgery and dermatology.

Away from work, Jay enjoys spending time with his wife, two young boys and fishing. He has provided his veterinary services to numerous animal rescue and adoption organizations in Birmingham and volunteered as a trail guide on the Appalachian Trail with the Blind Veterans Association.

He was named "Young Alumni of the Year" from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine, a "Top Tiger" from Auburn University, one of the "Top 40 Under 40" and "Executive of Influence" by the Birmingham Business Journal as well as a finalist for "Entrepreneur of the Year" from Ernst & Young.

Bryan Wetta is the Chief Financial Officer for Southern Veterinary Partners and is involved in many aspects of the financial, operational and business development activities at Southern Veterinary Partners.

Bryan worked with New Capital Partners in Birmingham as a private equity investor and operating executive for six years prior to joining Southern Veterinary Partners. He had extensive experience in acquiring, integrating and operating multi-site healthcare organizations from coast-to-coast.

Before graduate school, Bryan was a Managing Consultant in IBM’s Global Business Services division for six years. Bryan worked closely with venture-backed software companies to develop, sell and implement innovative new products at the largest commercial banks in the United States.

Bryan earned a business undergraduate degree at the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He lives in Vestavia with his young family and enjoys golf, college football and all things BBQ.

Maggie Estess joined the SVP family in 2019 as Chief Human Resources Officer. Maggie has a 17+ year career in Human Resources for the Financial Services and Manufacturing industries and is completing her Masters of Business Administration from Florida State University.

A graduate of Mississippi State University with a Bachelor's in Broadcast Journalism and Public Relations, Maggie is a Society of Human Resources Professional Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), is a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach, and a graduate of Georgia State University's Advanced Leadership Development Program. She participated in the Momentum Leadership Program and was awarded Top 40 under 40 from the Birmingham Business Journal in 2011.

Maggie and her husband Will live in Birmingham with their two sons, Chase and Ethan, and their rescue pup, Annie. Maggie enjoys traveling, reading, cooking, and any outdoor activity with her family.

As SVP’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), Cameron brings over two decades of human health experience to SVP and is passionate about focusing on the individuality of each unique SVP hospital.

Prior to SVP, Cameron spent 15 years at DaVita - one of the country’s largest multi-site healthcare providers - in roles of increasing responsibility. While at DaVita, he co-founded a subsidiary that grew to over $1.3B in revenue and became Chief Development Officer, and ultimately Chief Operating Officer, before deciding to sell to a larger company. Given that experience, Cameron deeply understands the challenges of growing a business and the multiple factors that our sellers consider when selling their practice. Early in his career, Cameron worked for two different management consulting firms which broadened his exposure to a variety of different product & service-orientated businesses.

Cameron earned undergraduate degrees in Economics & Political Science from Pepperdine and an MBA from the Wharton School of The University of Pennsylvania. He has happily settled down in Birmingham with his wife, Marsha, and their two young daughters, Juliana & Sophia.

Dr. Jeff Falone serves as Chief Medical Officer providing leadership, guidance, and management consulting to our hospitals. Dr. Falone was Managing Veterinarian at our Valleydale Animal Clinic in Birmingham since 2009 after previously working as a practice owner and veterinarian in Pensacola, FL. He studied Animal Science at the University of Kentucky and graduated from the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. His professional interests include surgery, ultrasonography, endoscopy, and management.

When not at the clinic, he enjoys spending time with his family, running and fishing. His wife Laura is a veterinarian at Valleydale Animal Clinic and they have two sons, Lane and Will, plus three dogs, Oreo, the guinea pig, and several fish to complete their family.

Barron Lakeman

Co-Founder and Chief Development Officer of Southern Veterinary Partners

Barron Lakeman is a Co-Founder and the Chief Development Officer for Southern Veterinary Partners and is responsible for overseeing all growth-related activities of the company with a specific focus on acquisition.

Prior to co-founding SVP, Barron founded his own law firm in 2007 and served as the Managing Partner at that firm until 2014. Barron’s legal practice focused primarily on business and real estate transactions and he also worked as a litigation attorney at a large law firm in Birmingham for three years prior to starting his own business.

Barron earned his J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law in 2004 and received his undergraduate degree from Auburn University in 2001. Barron is an avid golfer, loves to travel and is married to Kristin with three beautiful daughters: Peyton, Olivia and Avery.
