Theme: Celebrating Diversity and Solidarity in Gender Parity – 25 Years of TAWJA's Existence.
The Tanzania Women Judges' Association (TAWJA), a professional Non-Governmental Organization founded in 2000, is marking its 25th anniversary in a grand celebration! This historic Silver Jubilee will take place from 19th to 23rd January 2024 in the beautiful city of Arusha.
For two and a half decades, TAWJA has been a driving force in promoting gender equality and justice, with a focus on women and children. Despite Tanzania's commitment to gender equality, women still face significant barriers in income, education, and access to public services. TAWJA has tirelessly worked to close these gaps, ensuring equal justice for all.
This week-long event will bring together over 420 TAWJA members, esteemed judges, magistrates, policymakers, civil society organizations, development partners, UN agencies, embassies, and financial institutions to celebrate TAWJA's achievements and plan for the future.
