Providing mental health support to someone with a Developmental Disability (DD) can be challenging. With mental health disorders being 2-4 times more prevalent in people with DD, we need to be aware of biases and misconceptions that have created barriers to individuals accessing the proper supports and treatment. In this webinar, we will unpack the myths that often create barriers in providing supports, openly discuss what makes supporting someone with a dual diagnosis challenging, and discuss tools and resources that can help overcome these barriers.
