Ed Cavallini

Ed Cavallini

He enlisted in the Marine Corps while a USC junior and graduated in 1944. Ed was immediately sent to a special officer training course, basically how to fight and lead in combat, and headed to an until-then obscure but critical Japanese island called Iwo Jima. Ed Cavallini will tell the story of his bunkmate and friend en route to the island, the landing, and about the battle. He then prepared for the invasion of Japan. What did he think when the war ended? [And was he steamed? You have to join in to find out] And then about his long productive life with his wife of 74 years: four children, four jobs, and six moves, and finally retiring in Monterey, CA. Ed turned 98 years old 18 May and will be heading back to a reunion on Iwo Jima.
