Ir. Zailee was born in Masjid Tanah, Malacca, has been served in the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) since 1986.
He is currently holding the position of the Director General of DOSH Malaysia, that responsible to lead and oversee an organisation with more than 1500 officers and staffs at 15 state offices and 5 branches in Malaysia.
As the Director General, he is accountable to steer DOSH in ensuring the safety, health and welfare of people at work as well as protecting other people from the safety and health hazards arising from work activities.
Besides, he also responsible for the administration and enforcement of legislations related to occupational safety and health in Malaysia, executing the National Occupational Safety and Health Master Plan 2020 with the aim to reduce rate of accident and to inculcate preventive culture that contribute towards enhancing the quality of working life.
Prior to this, he was the Deputy Director General (Occupational Safety) DOSH (Oct 2018 - Nov 2020), Deputy Director General (Occupational Health) DOSH (Apr 2018 - Sept 2018). He also has being the Director in several states such as Selangor (2017), W.P. Kuala Lumpur (2016), Penang (2015), Sabah (2005) and Terengganu (1991).
