Vladimir Lechtman
Of Counsel at Jones DayVladimir Lechtman is Of Counsel in the Washington D.C. office of Jones Day, a global law firm with more than 2,400 lawyers in 40 offices around the world. He has 35 years of transactional experience with particular focus on cross-border M&A. He has advised public and private companies on numerous acquisitions, divestitures, joint venture, strategic alliances and reorganizations. His experience spans many industries, including oil and gas, manufacturing, telecommunications, media, aerospace, financial services, retail, hospitality, metals and mining. Vladimir has acted as lead counsel in some of the most significant transactions related to Russia. From 2004 to 2020 he served as Partner-in-Charge of the Jones Day Moscow office. He is active in pro bono representations with focus on immigration and asylum matters.
Vladimir grew up in St. Petersburg (formerly Leningrad) where he received a Diploma in linguistics from the University of Leningrad. He immigrated to the United States in 1981. In 1987 Vladimir received J.D from the University of Texas at Austin and began his legal career at Jones Day.
