Founder of Salvatore Caruso Design Corporation

Salvatore is the founder of Salvatore Caruso Design Corporation established in 1988 with the objective of creating Architectural Innovation through cost effective solutions. Salvatore studied Architecture in Italy and is licensed in the State of California C21343. In July 2017, he was sworn in as an honorary consul of Italy.

At the Pacific Coast Builder Conference, Salvatore was the 2021 Winner for Star and Best Houses, the 2013 Winner of the Judge’s Special Award for Excellence, and the 2012 Winner of the Gold Nugget Grand Award for Best Custom Home Design which had entries from the U.S, Canada and China. His company received recognition from the Governor of California for designing and building the first LEED platinum multi-family housing in the State of California. He received commendation from the Mayor of San Jose to SCDC for participation in the Midtown Specific Plan Task Force. Salvatore was recognized by the Mayor and City Council of San Jose for his contributions to the economic development and quality of life to the citizens of San Jose. He was recognized as a highly respected member of the design community, known for his innovation and community-oriented design efforts.

Salvatore has served as the chairman of the American Institutes of Architects Government Affairs Commission and as a San Jose Unified School District Charitable Foundation Board Member. Within the City of San Jose, he has served as the Planning Commission Chair and the Child Care Commission Liaison. He also has served as the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors Sister County Commissioner to the Province of Florence, Italy. He is a member of the San Jose Redevelopment Agency Urban Design Review Board.
