Every candidate for election or transfer to the class of Ordinary Member shall satisfy the Council of the following:

• Holder of a certificate of competency (CoC) of any grade;
• Holder of a maritime-affiliated Degree plus 12-months service with a maritime entity;
• Holder of a general Degree with 24-months service with a maritime entity.
