Who We Are: Experts at Exit Planning

Legacy Advisors Network (LAN) is the premier professional community of advisors dedicated to guiding owners of private and family businesses through the most important financial transaction of their lives—the continuity, succession and transition of their business.


While our members bring a wealth of knowledge and skills across all areas of the financial planning industry, we are especially passionate about serving business owners in the small to medium-size business market across a variety of industries. We work directly with the owners, leadership teams and their professional partners (CPAs, attorneys, etc.) to develop customized solutions that meet the owner's needs and desires—from valuing the business and market insights to evaluating the best succession options, and creating step-by-step implementation plans to quarterbacking the process through the business transition. Along the way, we also often identify personal financial planning needs, as well.

Becoming a LAN Member

We invite applications for membership from advisors with:

  • the same passion we have for serving private and family-owned businesses
  • a minimum of 2 years of full engagement in the business owner market
  • the CEPA™ designation or commitment to pursue this designation from the Exit Planning Institute
  • two referrals from professionals within the industry
  • a commitment to fully engaging in our Legacy Advisors Network.
