GTCC's 60th Anniversary: Our 60 facts #10
On 19 January 1962, the Foundation Committee for establishing a German Chamber of Commerce was elected by German businessmen in Thailand.
 
Seven days later (26 January) , the first unofficial gathering of German and Thai businessman took place at a luncheon in the Plaza Hotel. Twenty companies pledged their support for the foundation of Thai-German Chamber of Commerce.
 
Six months later (19 July), there was the first official meeting of the chamber with 57 members at the Erawan Hotel. There was also an election of the Executive Committee.

Corona pandemic and trade fairs
All Covid-19 restrictions will no longer apply at German trade shows. By April 3 at the latest, no more access restrictions such as 3G or 2G regulations, capacity restrictions, distance requirements or masking obligations will apply at trade shows nationwide. Restrictions can now only be provided by the federal states if the state parliament determines a localized, threatening infection situation. More
