See how URI's laboratory preschool, set in an urban setting, uses the city of Providence, RI as their playground.
Visit URI's Child Development Center in downtown Providence, RI, to see how we use our unique environment to support young children. It's not the typical preschool scene: a laboratory preschool in an urban setting using the city as their playground. We use the exploration of different green spaces, rich architecture, local music, and city art to provide opportunities for our mixed-age preschool classrooms to cultivate community, embrace diversity, and enrich our outdoor curriculum. No playground, no problem! Partake in a snack and a stroll around the city to explore how you can use our principles to enhance your practice.
School administrators can join us from 1:00 -3:30 PM on March 12 in the Matunuck Room at the hotel for a conversation about leading in uncertain times.
How do we prepare? How do we respond? How do we serve our community and support our students and our faculty? We invite you to bring your stories, questions, and expertise to our discussion. Contact Dr. Jill Sarada for more information at Jill.Sarada@pitt.edu.
