Claudio Feijóo holds an MSc and PhD in Telecommunication Engineering and an MSc in Quantitative Economics. He is Full Professor at the Technical University of Madrid (UPM) where he researches on the future socio-economic impact of emerging information society technologies. Since 2014 he lives in China where he serves as Co-Director of the Sino-Spanish Campus at Tongji University in Shanghai as well as responsible for Asia affairs at UPM as Rector’s Delegate.

Laura Millán is an Industrial Design Engineer from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. She holds a master degree in international leadership and her main research is about design methodologies applied to business models. She currently manages Xiji Incubator, an incubator for foreign companies based in Tongji, Shanghai.

Joan Bruno Rodríguez

Joan Bruno Rodríguez

After obtaining his master degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), Joan Bruno oriented his career into the study, development and application of Design Methods, positioning conceptual design as a key driver for innovation. The need of attaining integrative visions stimulates his basic research, in which he constantly looks for new connections that link creativity, science and technology from a humanist perspective. As a practitioner, he has been responsible for the development of conceptual design methods in Altran, speaker in international conferences, advisor for the creation of innovation teams, and lecturer at Technical University of Madrid (UPM). As a PhD researcher, he has visited the College of Design & Innovation of Tongji University in Shanghai. In the field of social innovation, he has created several projects, using Design Methods as a natural complement to creativity. In his research, Joan Bruno intends to establish new relations between the art of Design Thinking and the practice of engineering formulation. He is passionate about discovering new cultures and knowledges, that remind him the need of amplifying our perspectives to face inspiring challenges.

Cristina Armuña

Cristina Armuña

Cristina Armuña, Telecom Engineer and Master in City Sciences by the Technical University of Madrid. After several years working for Management Solutions as business analyst for the banking sector, she joined the Spanish Association of Telecom Operators to manage the Networks Deployments unit. In 2014 she started her freelance career as Telecommunications, Media and Technology consultant. In 2017 she co-founded the company Rule Eleven, focused on digital transformation of companies, with a specific interest in the music industry.

Guillermo García-Badell

Guillermo García-Badell

Dean of Centro Superior de Diseño de Moda de Madrid, Fashion Center of Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (CSDMM-UPM). Clerk of the Committee for the UPM Ph.D. Program Architecture, Design, Fashion and Society; and Member of the UPM Research Group “Analysis and documentation of Architecture, Design, Fashion & Society. Design Fundamentals Coordinator Professor in Fashion Design Ba Degree.
Architect from the UPM and PhD in Marketing Research from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. As researcher, Guillermo García-Badell is focused on synergies between designs and other disciplines (as Consumer Behaviour, or Marketing in general), ad between different design disciplines themselves (architecture, product, and fashion design). As Architect and designer, he has been awarded in several international competitions and has participated in different exhibitions.

Isabel Carrillo

Isabel Carrillo Ramiro, full Professor in Chemical Engineering at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), is a Vice Dean of Students and International Affairs of the School of Industrial Design and Engineering (ETSIDI) since 2011. She is responsible of the design and development of the internationalization policies at ETSIDI-UPM. She obtained her Ph. D. degree in Chemistry from Universidad Complutense de Madrid in 1996. She belongs to the Analysis and Optical Characterization of Materials Group of UPM.

Her research area focuses in the development of direct methanol fuel cells, DMFC to develop cheaper and lighter DMFC, for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) and autonomous underwater vehicles (AUV). She is also interesting on conducting polymers. She is Educational innovation in Chemistry is other of her research lines. She belongs to the Chemistry Didactic Group of UPM.

She has been member of the Committee on follow-up to the SUFI chair created by the company SUFI, S.A: E.U.I.T. Industrial, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, (2010 -2014). She is member of Member of the Spanish Hydrogen & Fuel Cell Technological Platform (PTE-HPC) and the Thematic Network of Excellence: Fuel Cell Network for a Sustainable Energy Future. She has participated in more than 30 research projects and 30 educational innovation projects. She has published more than 100 papers in impact factor journals and conferences.

Dr. Santos-Sopena holds a B.A., and M.A., in Foreign Languages and Literatures (English) from Universidad Complutense (Spain), a M.A., in Spanish Language and Literature from The Catholic University of America (Washington, D.C.), a Ph.D., Spanish Language, Literature, and Culture - Comparative and Cultural Studies from University of Maryland - College Park, and a Certificate in Arts Administration from New York University (NYU).
He organizes international and educational programs, coordinates cultural events, and designs communication, social media and digital marketing strategies to promote several international students' services and arts management initiatives.
As an educator, he holds a very active research agenda in using technology in language, culture, history, film, and literature higher education courses and Applied Linguistics. He is interested in Online, Blended-Hybrid, and e-Learning courses.

Marta Olea

Marta Olea

She is Associate Professor of Business Administration and Economics at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid holding a MSc and PhD in Business Administration and Accounting. Since 2017 she is also the Vice Dean for Students and International Affairs, leading the international office and extracurricular activities at ETSI Sistemas Informáticos (UPM).
Her research activity is focused on the field of innovation and intangible assets, more specifically on creativity. She has been a member of diverse multidisciplinary and international research teams as well as national research groups to advise regulators and policy makers.
She is also focused in gender inequalities among STEM professionals and actively promotes engineering field studies among girls.

Xavier Ferre

XAVIER FERRÉ holds an MSc and PhD in Computer Science. He is associate professor at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM). He was the Director of the European Master on Software Engineering at UPM during 2011-2012, and the associate director of the UPM - El Mundo chair on Digital Communication during 2013-2015. He was hired as High-End Foreign Expert by the Chinese government (2015-2017). He has co-authored usability planner (http://usabilityplanner.org/), an online tool for practitioners. He is senior researcher at the Ageing Lab, Center for Biomedical Technology (CTB), UPM. His primary research interests are usability and User eXperience (UX) in mobile applications for older users, integration of usability practices into software engineering, and technology adoption for e-health and mobile-based systems
