Mary Bishop is a Person Centered Thinking Mentor Trainer within the Learning Community for Person Centered Practices. She retired from Texas Health and Human Services with over 21 years of service. Mary served as: Coordinator of Placement, Regional Monitor, Consumer Rights Representative, Administrative Projects/Operations/Human Rights and Social Work Discipline Coordinator, all with the emphases on grant writing to support Quality Assurance Improvement System’s, and Person Centered Practices. She believes every social work position throughout her career prepared her to become the Person Centered Practices Team Lead and support the agency become more Person Centered. She partnered with those living in Intermediate Care Facilities in Michigan, Iowa, and Texas; directed a children’s shelter, supported those living in nursing communities, receiving hospice/home health and people needing behavioral/mental health supports. Mary supports friends as their “Health Advocate” and a homeless mother and her 5 children in her home. She continues to support the family after mom returned to work and having a home. Since 1980, she has worked to develop quality services across the lifespan that promote independence and purposeful, meaningful lives. She has vast experience in residential services, employment and adult day services. Kathleen is a Regional Vice President at Easterseals in Southern California and directs Adult and Senior Services in Los Angeles and Orange County.
Kathleen has strategically developed collaborations which yield an extensive network of business and community partners for adult and senior services. Kathleen is a consultant/coach for the Easterseals Adult and Senior Services network. She serves as a Board member of the National Adult Day Services Association and chairs the NADSA business development committee. Kathleen is also a member of the American Society on Aging and the California Adult Day Services Association. Locally, Kathleen collaborates with several Regional Centers, the Los Angeles and Orange County Adult Day Service Coalitions, Orange Caregiver Resource Center and the Alzheimer’s Association.
