Head of Sustainability at BSIWan Muqtadir leads BSI's sustainability team in Malaysia, with a primary focus on GHG verification, sustainability report assurance, carbon neutrality verification, and the certification of sustainable palm oil. With over a decade of professional experience spanning across diverse sectors, he has made a significant impact in the realm of sustainability. Initially trained as an aircraft engineer, he embarked on a journey to pioneer greener aircraft maintenance practices, thus demonstrating his commitment to sustainability. His academic accolades include a master's degree in Environment and Development from the Graduate Institute of International Development, Agriculture and Economics (GIIDAE) at the University of Reading. In recent years, his focus has centred on driving assurance in the palm oil industry by fostering dialogues and initiatives that promote sustainable palm oil production. These achievements are exemplified by his management of the PalmGHG calculator, which is responsible for new plantings and remote sensing verification.
