Keynote Presentation

Prosecution of Lawyer Alex Murdaugh for Murder and Theft from Clients

Given by the Attorney General of South Carolina, Alan Wilson, and his lead prosecutor on the case, Creighton Waters, this presentation will focus on the high profile investigation, prosecution, and conviction of prominent South Carolina lawyer Alex Murdaugh by jury trial for the murders of his wife and child, and by plea for years of theft from clients and others. The presentation will explain the role in the South Carolina judicial system of the Attorney General, the State Grand Jury, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, and other partners working on the matter, and their collective efforts in uncovering and presenting the case to the jury and the court.

Registration

This conference is only open to members of the PDAA. All other law enforcement personnel will be allowed to register on a case by case basis. The registration deadline is January 10, 2025 by 4:30 PM. To register online, click the "Register" button at the top of the page. From there, please select the ticket or tickets you require.

If you aren't planning to attend the Full Meeting DO NOT select the Full Meeting-Best Value ticket. That ticket is a fixed price and includes all social and educational events. If you are only attending parts of the Mid Winter Meeting, please select the tickets that include the sessions that you plan to attend. Questions? Payment of the registration fees must be received by PDAA headquarters prior to the conference. Please mail all checks andpaper registration forms to 2929 North Front Street, Harrisburg, PA 17110. You may also email your registration form to pdaa@pdaa.org.

Cancellations

Those who cancel on or before January 24, 2025 by 4:30 PM will be refunded the full registration fee. To cancel, please email Támara Heagy at theagy@pdaa.org. No refunds can be issued for cancellations received after January 24, 2025 by 4:30 PM. Those who have not paid will still be required to send payment. As always, substitutions are allowed for persons who have to cancel after the cancellation date.

Accommodations

A block of single and double-occupancy rooms has been reserved for the convenience of our attendees at the rate of $165.00+ tax per night. The deadline for room reservations is January 10, 2025 by 4:30 PM. Reservations can be made directly with the Omni William Penn Hotel​​ by calling 1-800-THE-OMNI. Parking

Self-parking is offered in the Mellon Square parking garage located across from the hotel. Daily rates are: $20 Monday - Friday. There are no in/out privileges for this lot. Valet parking is available to overnight guests at $45 per night and does include in/out privileges.
