The Tempe Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce three finalists for the 26th annual Business Woman of the Year Award. The award recognizes an individual's excellence in their chosen field and demonstrated leadership within the community. The award honors those who serve as positive role models to others and are active in community and Tempe Chamber programs. The recipient of the 2021 Business Woman of the Year award will be announced at the Tempe Chamber's Leadership Conference. 

The finalists for the 26th annual Business Woman of the Year award are:

 

Suzy Greenwood

Suzy Greenwood is the Business Manager of Arizona Tax Advisors, a Tempe-based accounting firm. She brings over 30 years of business and management experience to this position. She is dedicated to helping individuals and small businesses grow and succeed with best practices including tracking and reporting accurate numbers. Her focus throughout her career has been on customer service, creative problem-solving, training, daily operations, and financial management.

Suzy served as chair of the Women in Business Council 2019-2020, and chair of the Tempe Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors 2018-2019. She was the 2019 recipient of the Volunteer of the Year Award from the Tempe Chamber of Commerce and currently serves as Treasurer on their Board of Directors. Suzy also serves on the Tempe Family YMCA Advisory Board. She brings her experience in business and community to every activity.

Suzy is the proud mother of two, Erica and Cole. Erica is Audit Manager/Quality Assurance for Northwest Farm Credit Services and has her MBA with an emphasis in Finance and Economics. Cole is a First-Class Petty Officer in the United States Navy, currently finishing his degree in Emergency Management and Cybersecurity.

 

Rosa Inchausti

Rosa Inchausti's 28 years with the City have included many firsts. She began her career as the first bilingual Marriage and Family Therapist then forged the City's diversity efforts as the first Diversity Director. Her most recent promotion was to the role of the first Strategic Management and Diversity Director. In this role, she is responsible for transforming the organization into a data-driven municipality and aligning the City Council's priorities into an actionable Strategic Plan.

As co-chair of Tempe's Technology and Innovation Steering Committee, Rosa identifies and recommends the adoption of new technologies and innovations that advance the quality of life for residents and businesses. Two notable projects that stemmed from this role were the creation of a roadmap for the integration of Autonomous Vehicles into a municipality and the launch of wastewater epidemiology via municipal infrastructure. Most importantly, Rosa's true passion and dedication is in prioritizing equity and inclusion in all city operations.

 

Dr. Aneesah Nadir

When Dr. Aneesah Nadir is not networking in the community or raising awareness about various social issues you will find her at home with her husband Karim, or working on her forthcoming book Real Talk Before the Nikah based on two decades teaching marriage preparation. Dr. Aneesah Nadir has lived, worked, and worshipped in Tempe for more than thirty years. Her children are graduates of Marcos de Niza and McClintock High Schools. Her daughter is a graduate of Arizona State University Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law and she is a graduate of Arizona State University Department of Social Work where she taught for 17 years.

Dr. Nadir is a co-founder, and President of the Islamic Social Services Association-USA, a national nonprofit organization engaged in mental health advocacy and education headquartered in Arizona. She is the CEO of Dr. Aneesah Nadir & Associates, LLC. Her company provides diversity and inclusion education and training as well as family life and premarital education programs. Additionally, Dr. Nadir's Independent Legalshield Agency works with a nationwide network of attorneys including Tempe's own Davis Miles McGuire Gardner Law Firm to provide affordable top-quality legal coverage for business owners, their families, and employees.

Aneesah and Karim are parents of four adults and have three grandchildren.
