Behzad Aghdashi, Ph.D, PMP, is the director of McTrans Center within University of Florida Transportation Institute. Dr. Aghdashi’s areas of expertise include traffic operations on surface streets, simulation analysis, software development, and mathematical optimization. Dr. Aghdashi has over ten years of professional experience focusing on research in transportation engineering. Dr. Aghdashi was involved in several funded NCHRP, SHRP 2, FHWA, NCDOT, STRIDE, and University of Maryland projects. Dr. Aghdashi serves as a member for TRB committee on Highway Capacity and Quality of Service (ACP40). Dr. Aghdashi has extensive experience in mathematical modeling, and as a result, he has been centrally involved in many research projects to develop new mathematical models for different traffic and transportation analyses such as scenario generation for modeling the effects of non-recurring sources of congestion on travel time reliability.
Dr. Fabio Sasahara is an Associate Engineer at McTrans Center at the University of Florida. He obtained his PhD degree at the University of Florida, where he developed research on Highway Capacity methods. Fabio is actively involved with the Highway Capacity and Quality of Service standing committee at TRB and with ITE, especially at the Florida-Puerto Rico District.
