Waithera is the Responsible Marketing champion, ensuring compliance to Diageo’s Marketing Code, and in line with Diageo’s Society 2030 sustainability goals, she collaborates with Corporate Relations team to promote brand moderation messages in line with the Positive Drinking initiative. Waithera leads EABL’s in-house digital creative team- DigiTribe, who were recipients of the prestigious Digital Champion award at Diageo’s Pride of Africa Awards in 2021 for their role in using digital for a connected path to purchase during the pandemic through partnerships with ecommerce players and launch of Kenya’s DTC platform. He joined Unilever from SABMiller/AB InBev - the largest brewer managing all their brands in Kenya and before that he driving uptake for Google Cloud computing where he started his career.

He is the immediate past Chairman of the Marketing Society of Kenya, leading the board and society with a membership of over 3000 marketers through which he co-founded the National Business Compact on COVID (NBCC). Through NBCC he led a COVID behavior change campaign reaching 15 million East Africans raising over 4 million euros.

He holds an undergraduate Degree in Mathematics and Psychology and a Masters in Organizational Leadership and currently pursing PHD Studies in Corporate Governance. He is a Certified Chartered Marketer holding two Post Graduate Diplomas in Marketing from CIM UK and Public Relations from ICM – UK.

He also Lecturers United States International University (USIU) at Postgraduate level on Digital Strategy and Effective Website Design Strategy and Data Analytics for Healthcare System Management. She has a deep understanding of leadership, strategy formulation, execution, governance, and corporate stewardship, among others.

As an Operations Specialist, she is well versed on processes, systems and how to apply the lean six sigma principles in ensuring seamless processing.

In the last three years, she has been working for a leading Fintech company where agility, customer experience and sensitivity to any regulatory or economic changes are paramount.

She is professionally trained and accredited coach for the last eight (8) years and a member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF) Kenya Chapter where she has served in various capacities, including Chapter President in 2019.

As a way of giving back to society, she mentors with SHOFCO which runs Kibera School for Girls, Girls for Girls (G4G) organization and Kinara, a Mentorship program in my local church.

She has served in Board Committees in the institutions she has worked with and currently serving in the Main Board of Parklands Sports Club.
