Enhance your critical care skills with this focused, 5-hour pre-conference course designed to teach essential Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) techniques. This session will cover four key ultrasound exams critical for rapid patient assessment, especially emergency and critical care settings. The course is structured to maximize hands-on supervised instruction at the bedside with an experienced instructor.
Course Highlights:
• eFAST (Extended Focused Assessment with Sonography for Trauma): Quickly assess trauma patients for free fluid in the abdomen, pericardium, hemi-thorax, as well as detecting pneumothorax
• Cardiac Ultrasound: Learn to evaluate cardiac function and detect pericardial effusion.
• Lung Ultrasound: Master the identification of pneumothorax, pleural effusion, and lung consolidation, crucial in respiratory emergencies.
• DVT Ultrasound: Develop the skills to detect deep vein thrombosis.
