Course Summary

The Te Kaa In-person programme is our most comprehensive and most transformational option. Revised and updated in 2022, it comprises 4 full-day sessions at 2-3 week intervals, plus a 3 hour online session; and concludes with a graduation at a local marae. See the Documents section below for a full course outline.

In order to graduate as Te Kaa Amokura (alumni), we ask that you fully commit to attending all course sessions on the agreed dates and times; being present and open to participating; and doing all homework and preparation assigned before and after each session. With this in mind, please check the Documents section below to see our Terms and Conditions for Participants and ensure the dates below and on the Te Kaa Elect IN-PERSON document are firmly locked in to your calendar.

A 50% deposit is payable on registration to secure your place, with the balance due by the 20th of the month before your programme starts.

Note: We offer a 10% discount for Not for Profits (evidence required) or two or more registrations from the same organisation. To obtain this discount, please use Discount Code NFPFEB2023 when registering.

CJ is our Pou Ārahi Reo Māori (Lead Te Reo Māori Trainer) and a Pouako mō Te Kaa (Te Kaa Trainer), bringing his passion for Te Reo Māori to the Maurea team and our clients.

CJ came to Maurea from the education sector as a teacher of te reo Māori in bilingual units. He chose to further immerse himself in reo speaking environments by enrolling his children in Kōhanga Reo; and has continued their growth through to Kura Kaupapa Māori.

Through attending wānanga, surrounding himself with reo speakers, and always looking for ways to improve his reo, he has created opportunities for himself to teach te reo Māori.
