She is a well-respected thought leader on bias and racism in healthcare, and Forbes has described her as "a growing voice that is bringing to light and offering solutions to unconscious bias and structural racism among healthcare organizations."
Additionally, Dr. Blackstock received recognition from Forbes magazine in 2019 as one of “10 Diversity and Inclusion Trailblazers You Need to Get Familiar With,” and in 2020, she was one of only thirty-one inaugural leaders to be awarded with an unrestricted grant for her advocacy work from the Black Voices for Black Justice Fund.
