Francesco is a registered nurse specializing in mental health and emergency medicine. His longtime fascination with the mind, brain functions, and neuropharmacology inspired him to delve deeper into the effects of substances on human beings. He started his journey in 2017, working at a facility that provided flotation therapy combined with ketamine treatment for active-duty soldiers and veterans. This experience motivated him to expand his knowledge of psychedelics by earning a certification in psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy from the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS). Through these experiences, Francesco realized that, when used properly, substances can be a powerful tool. After several years of deepening his understanding of the therapeutic effects of psychedelics, he sought to expand his knowledge about the abuse of substances in urban communities across America. He chose a career in nursing for its unique intersection of patient advocacy and direct care. Through this experience, he gathered subjective data that led him to a crucial realization: substance misuse is not merely a matter of choice, but is largely deterministic. This profound understanding led to the creation of The Kaleidoscope Institute, an organization dedicated to producing content that promotes harm reduction and dispels myths, intending to educate society.
