Sessions explore strategies and resources to build capacity and ensure equity for all children from birth to grade 3. This year's Roundtable topics include the early educator workforce, PreK expansion and alignment, the science of reading, and many more! We'll hear from national leaders and early childhood experts, with a focus on strengthening state-to-state partnerships. Each day includes small group discussions and networking hours for state leaders to talk and build relationships.

This session is for attendees serving in roles responsible for leading data-driven decisions about preschool policies to improve experiences for children, families, and the workforce. Participants will have an opportunity to preview a new tool that outlines questions preschool leaders can ask about where inequities may exist in their preschool system. Then, participants can explore the types of data and measures they can leverage to answer these questions and provide feedback to the Child Trends team on the tool through guided facilitation. Participants will leave the session with a clear understanding of how they can use the tool to identify opportunities and challenges in collecting and using data to understand how to build an equitable preschool system. Focusing on leadership activities specific to addressing disparities is essential for realizing the intent of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) to provide equitable access, supports, and services to meet the needs of all children with developmental delays and disabilities. Over the past several months, ECTA has partnered with a diverse group of cross-sector critical perspectives, including families, to engage in an iterative co-development process for drafting competencies for leading equitable and inclusive early intervention and preschool special education programs. This set of competencies focuses on a specific area of leadership: the knowledge, skills, and behaviors that are essential for leading improvements to equitable access, services, and supports for children with disabilities and their families that result in positive outcomes not correlated with race, language, income, or other demographics.
During this session, you will learn about ECTA’s iterative process of co-developing a set of competencies for leading equitable and inclusive Early Intervention and Preschool Special Education systems, have an opportunity to provide feedback on the draft competencies, and discuss with colleagues work happening across states to strengthen leadership efforts supporting equity and inclusion.3:30 PM - 4:30 PM

CONFERENCE FACILITY AND HOTEL RESERVATIONS
The discounted group room rate at the Bethesdan Hotel is $239.00 per night. (For rate totals, please add 7% occupancy tax and 6% sales tax.)
Please book your hotel reservations before the deadline of Tuesday, September 19! We recommend that you reserve a room as soon as possible to assure you are able to get a room in the group room block before it sells out. This discounted rate will be available for two days before and two days after the actual conference dates. Hotel room and tax charges during your stay will be your responsibility, so please be prepared to present a credit card or alternate form of payment when you check in. Check-in time is 3:00 PM and check-out time is 12:00 PM. Internet access in all sleeping rooms is included at no extra charge.
You are responsible for making your own hotel reservations at the Bethesdan Hotel.
To confirm a sleeping room within the room block, it must be secured with a valid credit card at the time the reservation is made. You will be charged an early departure fee of one night's hotel if you check out earlier than expected after you arrive at the hotel. If you need to cancel your reservation, please do so 72 hours prior to arrival to avoid a cancellation penalty of one night's room and tax.

Please book your airline itineraries to arrive in Bethesda on Wednesday, October 11 in time for optional pre-conference programming or plan for the 8:00 am start time on Thursday, October 12. From Reagan National Airport: The Bethesdan Hotel is approximately 10 miles and depending on when you land, approximate drive time is about 30 minutes. Uber is approximately $45.00 on way. Please allow more travel time if you land during morning and evening high traffic patterns.
From Dulles International: The Bethesdan Hotel is approximately 20 miles and depending on when you land, approximate drive time is about 35 minutes. Uber is approximately $50.00 one way. Please allow more travel time if you land during morning and evening high traffic patterns.
From Baltimore International: The Bethesdan Hotel is approximately 27 miles and depending on when you land, approximate drive time is about 45 minutes. Uber is approximately $55.00 one way. Please allow more travel time if you land during morning and evening high traffic patterns.
Metro Stop: There are two Metro stations that are both within ½ mile of the Bethesdan Hotel: Bethesda Station and Medical Center Station

Day parking at the hotel is $10.00. And overnight parking has been discounted to $15.00.

In early October the average high temperature for Bethesda is 70°F and the average low is 52°F. Hotel banquet rooms are usually cool, so you might want to bring a light jacket or sweater.
