The award seeks to recognize innovative solutions from Youth and Women in Kenya that promote access to water and sanitation services that make a difference in promoting healthy, safe, and productive lives for all.
Submissions for the award must be innovative, contextually grounded, practical, and designed in response to on-the-ground needs and should be relevant to strengthening water and sanitation systems. Innovative solutions may target individuals, families, communities, urban planners, service providers, or water and sanitation infrastructure, networks, and systems. Solutions may include but are not limited to: services, models, tools, or advocacy strategies intended to improve overall access to water and sanitation services. Solutions should apply a deeper understanding of users' (customers/providers) needs when designing programs, services, and products/interventions. Submissions will be evaluated for originality, sustainability, and applicability.
The Innovations award committee will shortlist innovators to participate in an interactive workshop to present their solutions/case studies to a panel of water and sanitation experts. Three finalists in each category will be selected to pitch their innovations and awarded at the Gala event of the Youth and Women Water and Sanitation Conference 2021 that will be held in JULY 1st, 2021 in Nakuru County.
